Ok, if on page SEO was decent, what's the best strategy for Squidoo pages or similar sites?

I ask because I've started creating some Squidoo pages - some I use to backlink my Stumbleupon/Amazon site and others will be just to sell Amazon products directly and trying to rank the Squidoo pages organically. Sooo... obviously Squidoo pages are easier to rank in many respects - I've seen that because one of my MNSs has been looking up at a Squidoo page that's at #1 with ONE backlink to that page. So, if that's possible for pages with very low backlinks, how do we push them higher a little faster with a good backlinking strategy?

Do you think that just some social backlinks would work? I guess high PR backlinks are no longer a good idea overall, true?

I'd appreciate opinions and what you feel would work - or even better, what's worked for you for Squidoo or similar type pages.

I get a lot of people that hit me up for pins on squidoo pages. I would try it, I have no proof that pins drive squidoo pages up, just letting you know I get lots of orders/requests (other people are doing it)

Any of the social signals, OldSalt... tweets, retweets, Pins, social bookmarks etc.

You can also hit them with a small scrapebox blast periodically to keep them awake.

i have not worked with squidoo but will be starting shortly.

There is a thread on another forum with squidoo being the main earner. For backlinks, this guy recommends - internal links from squidoo by commenting on other lenses.

On a side note about Squidoo, I had not created a lens in several years but had to make some for some SEO testing I was doing the past few months and was surprised how easy it was... for some reason I had remembered it being cumbersome back when I first made them.

Thanks all - going to be tweaking the onpage SEO - trying to find a good range... not too high, not too low - and use LSIs to re-enforce the page. With zero backlinks it hit #6 at first and then sank off the charts. I then adjusted the keyword density for the main term and it's already up to #17... It may even float up a bit higher without backlinks but of course, I'm looking at the top of the first page and figuring I can hit that with a little backlinking.
