[ASK] Something Wrong on my friends PC

Specs of his Working PC:

Processor : i7-4790k 4 GHZ
MotherBoard : Z97x-Gaming 7
Ram : 32 Giga | 16x2

Now.. he's computer is being use as mini servers, and being used by 2 others PC for working *only for Excel data. Beside opening Excel he's only open 2 web browser and live chat.

So the Questions are, why does he's computer lagging while do some excel works? sometimes its freeze like 1-2s.

I know that being server PC put a burden on the PC but the only data that was save and taken was excel.. the database is using xmpp.

anyone can help me with this? Or maybe Give me some answers

How are the other 2 PC's connected to the server?
Is the server used as the file server?
What OS is running on the server and the 2 other PC's?

The Specs of the 2 Others PC is the same of the server..
Yes it was used as the file server
The other 2 was windows 10 and the server is Windows 7

The networked PC should not be affecting the server's performance.

Since the config is on high-end., I believe the server is also running on the SSD and not mechanical drives right?

From what I guess, the problem lies within the server itself and the main cause might be the anti-virus running in the background.

I can have a look for free through Teamviewer. PM me if required.

yeah its also running on SSD.

Hmm.. the anti virus i'm using is Avast, but there is also unhack me installed. could that be the problems?
sorry but teamviewer is no allowed by him :(
 
There are chances and that is the main reason why I ditched Avast and switched to BitDefender.

Try adding excel to the Exceptions. You can find it under the settings menu. If not, you can disable all protections by right-clicking on the avast's taskbar icon and select disable all protections until restart. If the problem doesn't exist then., it's time to uninstall Avast.
Also, if the lagging happens exactly at certain intervals, try changing the monitoring period under unhackme's options and see if that fixes the issue.

Get rid of all antivirus. Not needed in 2017. The best antivirus is common sense. Stop taxing your PC. If you're using a Mac, you should never of had any. (If you're using Linux, wtf are you protecting it from? The evil tumbleweed?)

Apart from that, after a quick scan of the thread, I couldn't see 'how' they are connected. Is it Eithernet, wireless or...

For cables, I'd suggest CAT6E. For WiFi, make sure you aren't blocking signal and use 5Ghz if you can.

Feel free to PM/Skype if you want more help.
