Articles and SEO to a client!

Hello BHW friends!

I have a client that has about 300 entries posted on his blog but they are not optimized for SEO etc... My question is how to proceed with this case.

Should I update articles and post them with the recently update or?

What do you think?

Put all 300 articles in a spreadsheet determine the ideal target search term for each one. Install yoast and get to work. I would have those optimized in 5-8 business days. Assuming they are already indexed and the website is more than 10 months old you should see the effect of the content tuning in 22 days or less... so from start to measured results this is about 30 days of work to make the changes and track the results.

Try retargeting each article for a related keyword in his niche and then go for offsite SEO.

Have a look at Google Analytics and either bin the ones that don't have traffic, or update them etc.


Fix/cull the ones with problems first

You'll need to prioritize pages. Analyze your organic landing pages in GA. Do upgraded keyword research, followed by on-page optimization and content refresh for your top performing pages. Update the date when it was posted or add that microdata. Resubmit to Google and then fix any broken links you might have out there for those pages.

Maybe even cut some of the dead weight in regard to posts with thin content and low traffic(this won't have really positive or negative effects).

Hello friends BHW,

Thank you very much everyone for your answers and comments. Now, I'm working on the list of keywords for my client and later, I will define a keyword for each of the items word in order to try to update the content for keywords for those keywords.

As this site has more than 10 months old, we'll see the results in 30 days+.

Check which ones have the most traffic and focus on that. Then try to improve other article when you have time.
