article writing is dead?

I don't think articles have as much weight or juice as they once did. A good example is that EZA doesn't come up as much on the first page for keywords as they used to. I do think that they are still a key part of SEO and shouldn't be ignored.

They're still definitely important, but they cannot be your number 1 method. Diversity is important, and I think those websites that depended only on article directories took the biggest hit.
 
Its not true. But it may be noted that the articles must be written with unique and quality content. They are still necessary.
 
I think the trick is and will always be diversification. After the most recent update, my sites got a boost in rankings. I like to think its because I do all types of link building, including article marketing.
 
Article writing is definitely not as effective as it used to be. You may still get some clicks but that about it. Big G doesn't value links from articles the same way.

Compare the two major players Ezine and articlebase. Articlebase made all their links nofollow over a year ago but Ezines kept their links ********. Big G recent upheaval saw a major blow for both sites.

You are probably better off posting your articles on your own sites. At least that way you are adding some additional value to your site rather than the article site.
 
If your domain is new and want to rank on 1st position, article must be recommended because SE see the backlinks is coming from high page rank and may be genuine.
 
Your sites should be monetized to turn that traffic from people clicking the about author section into buyers. I don't care where you put that article, If someone sees it and its good, they are going to click through to your site. Obviously in this regard, article directories are the way to go. I mean, don't look at all of this stuff as just a stupid BL. Its marketing, its your "last chance for gas, fill up here" sign.........
 
Ezine took a MAJOR hit when the latest algorithm changes took place, in fact they are one of the 3 websites that got hit the hardest. But at the end of the day Articles are still a good way to generate backlinks.

Believe me when I tell you this because I'm an expert at being an expert :p

From my experience articles blasts are useless but they are important for varying your backlinks.
