it is not dead, but when articles are written now, they have to be very good articles, informative and well written. The better articles will in fact give you a better boost than before because of theses changes.

one can only guess with google, but I think articles will still be worth getting, just not as much as before, and especially not as much on "content farm" article directories, like most of the auto approve wordpress directories out there. nobody posts there except robots. not hard for google to figure that out.

but the big sites like ezine and articlebase should still give decent link juice

Look for article directory sites with fancy and unique Adsense formats (not the default ones). These sites are recognized by Google as quality sites, hence, the special format arrangements.

An expert is someone whom calls him/herself an expert on a certain subject. When one calls him/herself an expert in a certain subject they think they know everything about it. Those people aren't called experts, those are called ignorant and arrogant people that think they know everything.

I think it is still good for backlinking, but not good when you are looking to generate sales.

Sometimes after reading some of the threads like this It seems that I should just stop building any type of backlinks...cause scrapebox`s links are worthless, xrumer is not as useful as it used to be and the AMR will get you sandobex (BTW links from it are worthless too) :D

The main thing is to know how to use the soft right and use your brain...so far I`ve seen really good rankings from using these "worthless" softwares and some manual link building...

still there is a demand for Article Submission and Writing..Article Submission is a part of SEO all time.. But the actual change is, In past any SEO part is enough like Directory Submission or Article Submission or Profile Link Building but now we need to do all, thats the only difference i find.

    Thanks

Articles are still great backlinks. I spin and blast them away. Most of my articles are pretty good and on popular subjects can be syndicated to other sites/blogs. I wouldn't give up this strategy at all.

Even get nice PR2,3,4 backlinks from articles? I get these all the time giving my sites a great boost.

...... Now that google has put an end to the power of content farms how can you avoid being hurt by the new algorithm?
    1. DO NOT COPY CONTENT
google's anti-scrapper update was a preamble to the content farm slap. the update punishes any blog caught ripping content from an orginal source.
    2. Do not repost your content on other blogs
your orginal content should stay on your blog. posting copies on it elsewhere could cause google to deem your site as a scraper and hurt your rankings.....

I noticed the article could be found on several other sites. Who copied the other? Was it the site you referred or those other sites?

Needless to say that it's good for link building but now a days article marketing is getting much competitive thus can't respond as beneficial like before.
