Article Keyword density.

All the articles that i currently have have a ekywrod density of around 1%-1.5% but i have seen some people saying that they go for 3%-4% although i was always sure 1%-1.5% was the right amount. Can anyone help me here?

I have seen some people saying something about using 3%-4% but i really dont think thats right maybe back in the day with some good old keyword stuffing 1%-1.5% is the best IMO

2% is perfect. In some rare cases, you can take it up to 3%. But, there is no need to exceed the limit.

To be on the safer side, stick to 1% keyword density thou occasionally go up to 2.5%.

is this 1% based on Article or wite such as http://www.youcanwritearticles.com/tools/keyworddensity/ is giving me 1.1% on article and http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/ is giving me 2.56%

Yeah, stay on the lower end of the spectrum. Take keyword density as more of a suggestion rather than a law....keep it real natural looking.

I think it's 1% ish on just the article the other is the whole page keyword density including meta data

I'd say keep it at 1% or less... Just make it it looks natural and doesn't read as spammy.

The Optimum amount after the last Google update is 3-5% keyword density.
This is what we produce day in day out and we have lots of happy customers with high ranking sites.

What you also need is consistency - post good quality and regularly.

i use this keyword density maximal 2%, because google wont spam keyword on article..
except bing or yahoo, they want 5-7% keyword density on article...

With the recent updates, you can't really outline a % for keyword density. It all depends on the keyword and the niche. Some keywords naturally appear more on the pages ranking #1. One example would be "phone" - the first page ranking is Wikipedia with a description - "A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell phone and a hand phone) is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link while" - any SEO guy would tell you to decrease the number of times it's mentioned, but it ranks.

NATURAL!!!

Write articles that cover a subject, not just around the keyword, once every 100 words. Sometimes it will be even higher than 2%, other times it might be mentioned only once, both scenarios can rank depending on the other factors.

I think, according to recent survey it is 1%. I have also heard other group of people saying that whatever the density, is the keywords must be used naturally..

Keyword density isn't important and almost never has been. Use the keyword a handful of times and that's all the mileage you're going to get out of it. Google uses (as a small part of their algo) some ranking function similar to Okapi BM25 (wikipedia it) which itself is based on TF/IDF. Basically the "juice" any particular word or phrase gives you on a page is on a logarithmic scale, aka diminishing returns. The first mention will get you most of the juice, the second about 1/3 of that, the third another 1/3.. you can see where it's going. By that point you have 99% mileage you're going to get out of that keyword, and any further attempts are just going to run the risk of setting off google's keyword stuffing alarms. If you really want to know how google determines relevancy, read about Latent Dirichlet Allocation (particularly, see the recent seomoz article on this).
