I would say, at least buy to yourself a prepaid credit visa card and load some cash in it. With that money start investing in methods people recommends here. You can also create a translation company, yes from english to you mothertongue, find business people of your nationality and sell them the translation service, they are busy professional with no time to translate, so they need somebody with the knowledge and the time to do it. As example find inmigration offices related with your country and offer to help in translating, Im sure there will be oportunities for you. As well, in my country we have not that good connections as they have in the US, but man you are there, it is at your hands. I would recommend you try to use the prepaid visa credit card and start working with methods people here recommends, create a blog and talk about anything you have knowledge in there, create that blog with quality and leave it there, with the time it will grow.
