It was Roy H. Williams that said...

“A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again.
But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistakes altogether."

I think smart men get wise after some time.

I'm a firm believer of everyone has their own path and learning curve.

Almost no one ever learns from the mistakes of others. You may think so, but you will end up making those mistakes anyway. That's why wise men are only in kung fu movies.
whats the use of smart men if there will be no smart guys

I don't know how to code so I pay some one to do that for me instead of learning how to code because I have other more important things on my plate.

That should be a practical ex. of the quote shared by OP

Both, however you would think that with age some people would learn by their mistakes. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you measure things, there are still stupid older folks :)

You can assimilate new information. Learning. But "wise " is something that is inborn.

I believe I'm too smart since I make the same mistake for several times :D :D

I guess, I am neither 50% of the time, and perhaps wise 25% of the time and smart the other 25% of the time, and that is also quite subjective and relative!

I be trying to learn from others mistakes but I be making mistakes myself lol.

I try my best to be both intelligent and wise in my decisions and actions.

I'm a smart man, and I make mistakes and learn from my mistakes. Now, I'm a wise man too, since I found a smart man(me) and learned from him.

Both, as it depends on the nature of the business.
If you can afford to bear losses, you can be a smart man like Elon Musk.
If you are an empty pocket like me :D , then watch your steps carefully.

As always, the theory sounds very cool. And in reality, people make mistakes and repeat them, they see others make mistakes, and still do exactly the same thing.

It's called life.
