It seems G will use a giant broom to clean the space with their penguin 2.0 for next couple weeks... Just clean your dirty link and smiles to G like baby face... :D

Why are you sure this will happen over the next couple of weeks? Matt Cutts implied that they will refine the Penguin update just like the Panda and it will take them some time to roll out the Penguin 2

Hi livingnowhere
Where did you get this information? Are you having inside info from google? Anyway the advice for the links is good :P

There's not much the next update, or other future updates can take anymore from me, I'm already broken on the organic traffic path.
But GL to others.

I am just waiting for it.

Right from Panda, none of my Main sites have got hurt and this makes me excited whenever a new update is about to come :D

QFT

Every update and some of the dross for some of the keywords I'm chasing for gets thinned out and my main sites rise.

As for site recovery. It really isn't that hard. It takes 3-4 months - but it adding content, sensible linking to the new content and getting some social interaction going on the site is about all theis is to it.
But that involves work, and most people in IM are too lazy to be bothered and too impatient to wait. Rather buy another domain and hunt for the next push button content making and linking solutions. Then wonder why 18 months down the line that ones wiped out and they have to start again.

Yes Google and other SE's change, but there has always been a right way (even using BH methods) and the right way (the way that involves work and patience) is the same as it's always been and works for 99% of the people 99% of the time.

Scritty

anyone has a good explanation of what is pinguin and what does pinguin do?

just read a bit in the forum :D the penguin update is already like 4 months old.

I think as long as you update you site often (with good onsite-seo ) and build high quality links with anchor diversity all future update won't hurt your sites.

Ive read articles calling the next update the "end of SEO" and I can't help but laugh. There may be change, but people will adapt.

At the very worst, the "end of seo" will only usher in the wave of "negative seo"

I'm tired of reading this kind of threads... If something happens, we'll just adapt, alter our SEO tactics a little and continue making money.

BTW I don't think this update will make any substantial change on the SERPs whatsoever.

Don't worry, this is not the end of SEO. They are hyping this up, but always keep in mind that SEO is about adapting, so just keep things diverse.

I'm hoping that with this new update, they fix the sites that were hit literally by accident.

Ed Dale, who has been pushing some webinar geared to off line local business building has been using doomsday terminology and has made a bold statement that Google is pushing out something this weekend.

Of course, he used some material from Barry Schwartz's site, where Barry quoted Matt Cutts, but Ed did not link back to it, nor did he publish Matt Cutt's clarification of what Barry reported Matt had said.

The doomsday stuff is just another way for another person to do their own kind of marketing. I think it was kind of sad the way Ed Dale is using quotes that are out of context or have been clarified.

Who knows.. maybe Google will "unleash" something this weekend... and Ed's prediction will turn out to be correct. On the other hand, I've seen predictions before, that ended up not being correct at all.
