Hi there,

These days there are of promotions going on for xyz domian extensions. i am wondering if they are any good for seo ?
i read a couple of times here n there that they are equal to .COM domains but my experiments says otherwise.

last month i bought two xyz domains and with couple of coms and put the website online with lot of content.

i dint do any seo or indexing for any of the website but as of today the .com websites are almost completely indexed and recieving descent amount of hits for google but the .xyz domains have only few pages indexed and no traffic at all.

so i am wondering if these xyz domain are useless or perhaps it was my content or maybe some other reason.

can you guys tell me about your experience with xyz domains. how are they doing for you? are those cheap .xyz domain extension worth buyining or not?

No they are not even close to be equal, they are just cheap throw away domains for spamming at Facebook for example. Don't use them for an authority website.

no don't see any value, the only reason i'm using .com and others because it looks more legit, and better for your ranking..

I havent seen a single one of these ranked yet :D

.com one is more legit. As fair as I know there is no difference among other domains. I am lso interested in getting answer

I wouldn't give it a try but what will work is if you have good and authentic content on your site.

The .com, .org, and .net are the top 3 domain extensions to use for your money sites. Those are the ones to stick to when trying to rank in Google search engines and for building trust/authority with your visitors. Potential traffic will mouseover a link to a website with one of these 3 extensions and are more likely to click on a link than with an .xyz or other domain extension.

However, .xyz domains do have some value if you are using them strictly for purposes of domain redirects or for direct social media traffic (as stated above). They are also very handy to IMers for various tasks like split testing and previewing landing pages. I would be careful linking these .xyz domains to your money sites as they may actually have negative effects on your traffic and rankings.

I don't think .xyz makes no worth in the market. Many of them are interested in .xyz extensions.
As a result, .xyz is at the top of the new TLD chart. So you confidentally get .xyz extensions it has the worth to buy.

hello google don't mind tld so much, its all about backlink, content, right social signal and relevancy, ... i saw some .xyz get page one even on tough competition niche ..
if you dont believe me just try googling "one piece manga"

Well they are literally 2-15 cents each at the moment. So good cheap domains.

Mostly the big hype around them was that abc.xyz was registered by google, and it was supposed to be the next big thing. But only well-informed people knew about that, so the extension has no real ground at the moment.

Thad said however... if google, or ''Alphabet'' as they called it, starts to do a lot of things with the xyz domain extension, and it becomes viral, those cheap domains could make a bubble where you could get some quick cash.

it doesnt look trustworthy even it can rank on the first page, i think the conversion will be lower. unless use it on the humorous site.

if they stick around long enough people will come to accept the extension. Not everyone can get a top 3 extension in a name that they want

I have tested out 2 myself .site and .digital in my experience you can rank, it just takes more work. I don't think its worth it at all. Its gimmicky at best.

Use xyz domains for cloaking or throwaway domains.

If you're planning on ranking, then you'll spend some money, so why not buying a .com, which looks way more legit to the consumer eyes.

The only reason why you havent seen any xyz ranking is just beacause when you lanuch a project and have a budget for it, there no reason to buy a xyz domain which look less sexy than a .com/

For me .xyz is same as .com. So, xyz domain not cause problems on indexing. xyz domain is a developing one in TLD. Almost it placed at first in the TLD list. So, you can trust it and build more backlinks on it as com domain do.

.com, .org, and .net are the toppest domain extensions to use. .com is more legit
