Badly spun content on web 2.0's probably wont penalize your site, but it just probably wont stick or give you any direct traffic.

Then you're not in a market place where it works or your doing it wrong.

Phrases like "Syndication doesn't work" without qualifying exactly under what ciscumstances you are doing it are a fecking waste of time.
Of course syndication works. There are sites that get 40% of their traffic through syndicating their content through posterous or similar.

Whenever anyone goes on about a sure fire method - or a definite loser method without qualifying more or less exactly the niche, website type, content, marketing efforts etc that they used then the information is WORTHLESS.

If you can't see the difference - or if your arrogant enough to think that you have discovered the secret money button of the web and single handed - or think you know and understand every possible combination of site type, onsite SEO offsite SEO and content that there is on the web, how every myriad piece of the puzzle can fit together, how Googles algorithm interprets everything for everybody - THEN YOU ARE DELUSIONAL

Hi - I have a site selling replacement batteries for Ipads. It's got a 1200 word main page of 100% unique content with 5 pages of spun content reviews inside. It's Ebay affiliate. 8 months old, and I tried syndicating my ofront page to 15 decent sites mixed WEB2 and PR, and got no result.

Right - that's food for thought. Good info, people who read it with a similar site profile and content spec might want to ask follow up questions . "Did you link back to the original article?" - "How long had your original content been onsite for - are you sure it was already indexed?" or "What' was the LSI like on it"

We ask these questions, maybe get some answers - and move forward with a better understanding

What links, to what sites? What is your niche, Did you deep liink? What was your keyword spread like? Have you other links going to your site? What's the content like it's linking too? How old is your site? How big is it? Does this reflect at least 3 months of improvement or just went up yesterday?

Becasue frankly without knowing at least some of this - your advice is worth buttkiss!

It works for me.. But I suppose it's not a long term technique. Google will get better to take them down 1 day. Right now, it's just a myth.

all of your assumptions are right and you should avoid using the low quality spun contents. Instead you can spend a few more bucks to make them readable. Then you can be safe. for ever.
