Hello guys,

In the past, i did a link push taht i learned from BHW using web2.0 with poorly spun content using spinnerchief. I tested it out and i started ranking well. I bought a few backlink package and it pushed me to top 10. I assume post penguin that poorly spun content on ANY backlink is a bad idea. I also assume that it can penalized your website. Is that still true?

as long as you are not directly pointing your poor spun content to your money site, there will be no problem.

I've learnt from experience that as the first tier to your money site you should use original content, I mean how hard can it be?, then for second tier you can use that poorly spun content that way if something goes wrong you can just remove the first tier or so on and then your money site will be intact.

If you want to promote your website or want to optimize your money site for better ranking in Search Engine then you've to use 100% unique & quality Content.

According to Google latest Update - you'll be penalized for copied contents or for the Articles full of grammatical errors or Master Spun.

Mind - it Quality is King - if you want to get High page Rank in Google.

___ check Google latest Update. Simple thing - if you want to get better page rank make your Content 100% unique; Only quality can survive you.

Money site, 1st tier - original content. 2nd tier - well spun content - if it gets deindexed just add another one.

D.

nonsense, we use a lot of Web2-type links with spinned content and pages ranking really great and really do not need 100% original content, just insert pictures, videos and other HTML elements for better quality.

Here we go AGAIN.

It depends entirely on your website, your niche, your keywords and what you are promoting on it.

This thread is likely to go the same way as countless others as the microsite jockeys jump in and tell you that spun content and link spamming works fine and your an idiot not to do it.
While others with larger wesbites in more competitive niches tell you its a mistake.

Without knowing what your website is, what you are promoting and your competition, this question can not be properly answered.
A variation on this appears almost daily.

Here's a detail of just why smaller sites in smaller niches get away with far more in terms of agressive promotion (and why it is probably the right thing for them to do) and conversely why it's the wrong thing to do with other niches.

Yeah even i tested. There is no need to add original content on web 2.0s unless you are doing SEO for your client. Otherwise for your own sites just use the auto spin button of the spinner and add some pics/videos and you will be fine..

Heck u can even use encoded content on ur web 2.0s and u will still rank. Its the link on that web 2.0 that matters..
I am talking from my experience

Crap content still helps for the rankings ;) I have few crap sites with crap content and using the same spun crap content on links and they rank well.

unique content isn't that important. just consider the billions of things that are repeated on a daily basis across all trusted and high ranked sites. everything from quotes, to common sayings and phrases, etc...

having something that's duplicate on your site doesn't matter. consider this example: if cnn.com made a new post/page with nothing on it but the common saying "right as rain" and a link to a website, would cnn.com and that site tank? no, of course not. even though that phrase is repeated on the web millions of times.

you need to consider your property as a whole. let's say you make a web 2.0 blog, but you don't want to slave away or spend tons of money filling it with unique content. guess what? you don't have to. if you have at least some unique content on it that's decent and readable with links to your site then you're fine. if you add a bunch of posts that's nothing but copy & pasted news stories you'll still be fine. if you add more pages with popular poems and maybe a few lines of commentary you'll still be fine. if you flood the entire property with nothing but spun garbage that makes no sense then you won't be fine.

google doesn't lay down the hammer on a site simply because it has content that's not unique. if that were true, almost every site would be destroyed on a regular basis. just think of all the news sites that post the same political quote. or repost and link to other news site's articles. they borrow content all the time.

bottom line would be this: you don't want to inflate your properties with spun garbage, but that doesn't mean you have to put in a lot of extra work or money. give your property something good and unique, but also feel free to give it stuff that isn't unique, but is good or relevant.

Well said. I keep first tier with highly spun content and add video, image to improve the quality. Then I make more backlinks to tier 1.

While this is true (common phrases, quotes, even entire multi paragraphs taken rather than linked to) the main point here is the overall website.

In a highly commercial phrase Google has a lot of choice over what to rank, even how much authority to give to a WEB2 link.
While some shit slips though the net - compared to the number of very commercial terms there are it really isn't that many - and they tend to be highlighted and fixed (probably manually - but who cares how it's done)
I've had 200+ 5 page sites ranked with 100% copied content. They got blasted due to adsense issues, but they ranked real well for a long time without a single shred of unique content on them - the links were all over the place (mostly Xrumer) and the content links were copy/paste/submit. THey worked just fine.

I have other fields now where the competition is tough (ranked Medium or HIgh by Google, say 100,000 searches a month or more, or niches where page one is full of good established high traffic high PR sites. I promise you I'm not getting in there AND STAYING (which is my main criteris) with crap either on my sites or on my links. I've tried the easy way - it doesn't work.
That doesn't mean I'm white hat, far from it. Just means I had to adapt, try a few twists.

Type in "Book a winter holiday" or "European Car rental" or "Unsecured Home Loan" or "Best free to play RPG" or "Buy a moped" or whatever. There is not one shit site on page one for any of those terms. Hasn't been for years. Stick the sites in majestic or href and check out the direct links. Just about 100% decent quality. Sometimes a crap site comes onto page one - stay for anything from 6 weeks to 3 months, and is gone. Check and it's not even in the top 100 any more. It happens.

These are some of the terms I make cash on. Shit DOES NOT WORK either on site or on first tier links. PERIOD.
If you want a site like "garden kneel pads with handles" (another one of my old sites) the competition is crap. I have never written a single unique word. I spent $20 on the landing page in 2006 (as I knew nothing about the topic) scraped a few thousand words of other stuff and threw together a site. I used a bookmarking service in 2006 and have since 2009 it's had nothing but a few Xrumer profile and comment links balsts. It averages about $12 a day, never been out of the top 5 (so almost $25,000 in 6 years by my calc for nothing but junk and spam)

Unless you are lucky (or unlucky) it's "Horses for courses" ladies and gentlemen.

I guess that we need some relevant (spun sort) backlinks, as well as a good number of Unique and Readable links for building trust in the eyes of big ol' G.

With all this hubhub about SPUN content flying, and Matt Cutts poking his nose into everything, I am beginning to try a safer approach (by safer, I mean future proof: hopefully). Until Google rolls out a Porcupine/Dolphin/Some new animal update and devalues even the Web 2.0s with Unique content, I am going that way. I am currently doing linkwheels with Unique and readable content to my money site (using this fiverr gig: http://fiverr.com/expertseolinks/ma...dable-unique-ultra-spun-content-ping-rss-them) and blasting them with a second layer of this gig from crork (this one: http://fiverr.com/crorkservice/create-75-pr3-to-pr8-linkwheel-and-2000-social-bookmarks).

This seems to be working pretty well at the moment, and I see quick results as well. Just hoping that Google does not do anything silly again (I know it's going to be a vain hope).

Poor spun, bad spun, good spun, any spun - google still can't read. But google's synonyms data base is exact like your favorite spinner key|keyword|keyphrase and if you use the same article scrapped from ezine articles you are busted and no authority for you. To protect yourself use article created from at least 3 sources. Paragraph scrapping and spun still works! Syndication don't work anyway - over 10 tests. When I syndicate my original content, site's SERP falls.

I assume - those for non-spun content are americans while those for spun content are asian's. Believe it or not a business cannot spend more than it makes and for a business to remain feasible it must be profitable to an extent.

If you spent a dollar for every "original" - i use the word original cos in my dictionary unique = spun.

So, if you spent a dollar for every original article you built - how much would you have at the end of the month. Taking into factor - advice from several sources about adding new content to sites as often as possible.

I agree mostly with flurbuff and scritty. There are times when spun content is bad ! However, it would be wise in this age to invest a little as you can to make as much as you can.

So, if i can invest 1 dollar to make 2 i would but i would invest 1.6 dollars to make 1.9 i would not. ( Taking into factor - time and effort)

You have to be able to assign a value to each part of your seo campaign to determine which sites get what. If site a cannot afford original content - then feed it with the best spun shit you can until something happens .
