Are we really creating anything valuable for the web?

"value" is completely subjective. if a customer sees value in a product, and i don't, i'm not going to try to take the stance that my opinion is somehow more valid than theirs.

as long as both parties walk away from the transaction getting what they came for, that's good enough for me. i'm not going to bother trying to tell my customers what they should and shouldn't find valuable.

i think this random movie quote sums it up pretty well:

This is what I do with my affiliate blogs. While personally I wouldn't opt-in for all the products I list, there are still many that I would - and some I even do.

However my biggest money makers lay in the "entertainment industry", I can say any day that I do not even understand why I have hundreds of customers on daily basis, with new ones constantly rolling in. I really don't know why the heck do people buy my services, but given the massive volume, I guess I'm giving something of value to the masses?

Sure I admit that I did some quick buck with not-so-exact-PPD when I started to get into IM, but didn't we all?

I used to create thin affiliate and adsense sites and earned a pretty decent income from that for some time. About a 2 years ago I really got tired of doing that and started creating my own products/services that I feel provide value to the end user/consumer. Selling a product/service I believe in has really made the difference for me. Not only in increased income but also in how I feel about myself and my sites. A world of difference.

"Value" is an opinion in which we all regard differently. I work on a supply/demand logic.
Most of what I deal in comes from a problem that I have a solution for. Or a demand that needs a supply.

I do not see any morality in question. Like I always say Google did not write the book of internet ethics.

Also I am noticing sarcasm in this thread going unnoticed by others...

My advice? Take a few sleeping pills to get you through the night so your well rested to count your money...

I only sell quality products. The content that gets created to build links is often bad quality. Don't worry, most sites go down eventually and take the bad quality with them.

I've never done a fake product review and I never will. It is basically scamming. I think the furthest I would go would be to rewrite an amazon product review.

There was a BBC news report recently on online shoppers. I don't remember the full details of it, but it essentially sheds light on the growing number of fake review sites and how fewer people trust these sites. The internet has been around for a long time now and so you can expect a growing number of users to be much savvier than previous generations. Another point is they are getting poorer and so that $ will need to go a lot further.

A lot of saints on BHW! 99% of ppl here content locking is offering ZERO in terms of value and we know how big the industry is. Everybody creating shitty yt videos offering a coupon or a free [whatever] is adding a fat 0. Do we really wanna talk about cb, eho'ing, cl scam techniques, giving y! answers with a vested interest or making affiliate sites promoting the products with the highest gravity as a deciding factor? What about fake pills, hair removal, teeth whitening, acai berry shit? Or do we want to talk about "rep mgmt" and what it really is? lol Personally speaking of pure lead gen alone I make hundreds a day and I'm perfectly aware I'm not offering any value whatsoever a part to my bank account. It's legal and it's viable that's it. Am I morally concerned about what I do? Considering the multitude of ways I rake in my prospects I can safely end up saying the vast majority of ppl is on the interwebz not to look for anything "of value", but just to fuck around and I give'em exactly what they look for. Every single field where I know I'm adding value and sometimes a LOT of it is in areas where there's nothing to monetize and an intellectually ehm "more developed" audience, let's say... In a world with a higher median "internet IQ" the IM would be a fraction of a fraction of what it is right now, as it used to be back when it started. Do your own math.

well my main site helps lots of people enjoy a holiday in a beautiful part of the world. it's full of quality products, in fact we won't list a tour or hotel if we wouldn't be happy with it ourselves. So as for my main sites - no.

but then we have the 1,000's of spammy shit pages that I have to produce so people will find that quality site..................I do feel that that not only wastes my time producing them (when I could be improving my main site - for the betterment of the internet), but also wastes anyone's time who happens to stumble upon one of my crappy spammy articles.

But then I look at my bank balance and remember that google made the rules - I'm only following them.

Couldn't care less about poor content and feelings someone would have when he lands on it tbh but no, I don't lie and sell shit to people. Did it only once with that Web to TV crappy software and never again. It's possible to make money without cheating and stealing from people.

With people I don't think about corporations, copyright laws and such..
