Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed more conversations happening within niche communities on Twitter lately.
Do you think communities are becoming a bigger part of the platform’s engagement and networking opportunities?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I think growth depends heavily on niche quality now. inactive communities usually struggle while niche ones stay active.

X is still the widest platform for networking and engagement opportunities no matter what your niche is

There is no any other platform compared to X until now

twitter is going know where anytime soon

There’s fear they’re taking away communities. I grew a community to 100k and it’s very active

Depending on the niche, I suppose. Really hard to get a gauge on the specifics. Anyway, the feature's been removed for some time now but XChat is there to fill its place so there's that. Unrelated, I wonder if Elon would buy up the other well-known X website as a joke and make it to his version of YT. Gives me pause sometimes.

About this, X is better than any other social platform, it's much easier to build a timeline around your niche alone, by cutting off engagement from unrelated tweets or stories.

not booming, but becoming a more useful tool for anyone playing the niche/long-game rather than chasing vanity reach.

what is actually growing are the number of communities sprouting here and there, so distribution might be a little slower now

Yeah, I think they're still growing, especially in niche topics. A lot of people seem more comfortable engaging in smaller communities than posting publicly, and the discussions are usually more targeted. For networking and building relationships, communities can be more effective than the main feed if they're active and well moderated.

I think niche communities seem to be getting more active because people are looking for more focused discussions rather than general content. They can be a good way to connect with people who share similar interests, especially compared to relying only on the main feed.

I think so. Niche communities seem to create more meaningful discussions compared to the regular feed. They also make it easier to connect with people who share the same interests and build genuine relationships.

I totally agree with you. However, niche community development seems sluggish for me.

Yes, I think Twitter Communities are becoming more important. They help people connect around specific interests, leading to higher-quality discussions and better networking opportunities than the main feed.
