Are These Logo Concepts Too Similar?

Hey guys, I was hoping to get some feedback on this. I just launched a new freelance agency using the following logo I designed (after looking at various "L" logo concepts online for inspiration):


Now my friend is telling me he thinks my logo looks too similar to a local construction company's logo:


I have to admit the "L" portion of the logo follows almost the exact same concept as mine, but I didn't k even know the other logo existed at the time. Is this something I should be worried or concerned about? Would I be breaking a copyright or trademark by using such a similar logo? I really like the one I have now and would rather not have to change it if possible. If it means anything, my agency sells digital goods and services.
