Are these botters? or me being naive

Hello BHW,

I'm researching into how Instagram works and this forum has been a great help for me and would like to thank this site before my question.

I have come across 2 public figures from my country and I'm almost certain that their agency (or them) is running a bot for them to rise in fame those dips show massive unfollow/follow in one day and although I don't want to call these people out (they might not know whats going on either) I'm just shocked if they are people abusing the system, Is this just something that gets past fans supporting these people or am I missing something?.

Yep, definitely looks like a follow/unfollow bot.

Why does that "shock" you though? They're not doing anything bad bro... They're trying to get exposure, and eventually trying to make some $$$. Why are you thinking that's bad? It's not abusing either, they are doing what they can on that platform to gain exposure. Anyone can manually do this too, but it would just cost us lots of time. Using a bot just makes it faster. Nothing wrong here my friend.
 
I don't believe they're botting as the follow #s are very low and the risk for shadow ban is not worth it. It would be interesting to see the stats for the # of followers on the accounts.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying its a bad thing but coming from a group of people me and my friends who used Instagram literally had no idea this was a thing.

Yeah man, that's the name of the game. Instagram is a money maker, and one way to gain exposure is to follow someone, like their posts, etc, because it gives them a notification and they check out your profile.

Example 3 is without a doubt follow/unfollow botting with the setting "unfollow followers". How many followers does this account have?

Is there a list of high end bots that are completely customisable etc? Interested to try some practical stuff
 
We'd need the names of the accounts to do further research. It may be bots, looks like they follow a few hundred every day until 7,500 (almost 1 month from the charts above). Then unfollow fast (few days).

Nothing wrong. Bots are like cars. We can all walk, but in a car we can get to our destination faster (following the rules of the road), and then have more time to do what we need.
Same with bots. They do what we can do manually, leaving us time to do what we need in the meantime.
