Are Private Blog Networks Really Dead Forever?

I don't know how anyone can assume PBN is dead. What's private will stay private.

No, it's not. As long as you do it in a right way and you will not get penalized, your PBN still works

PBN will never die unless you do it in the right way

if they are detected than they are not private blogs. PBN's work same as always for me.

Even if you re-build a site and change topic completely, the link from that site still holds SOME value I think. It's arguable if it's worth the time, but you won't get slapped for doing it because there are lot of legitimate cases of this.

No matter what Private are private ever.so,PBN are still alive.

I understand your point. But assume that G decided to exterminate all links juice from previous backlinks of an expired domain? So what does prevent them to do this? Will this effect search results very badly? I don't think so.

The answer might be the storage requirement. So what is the storage requirement: they should keep list of URLs of previous links for each expired domain. Can't G do that? I don't think so. They can do that relatively easily but I am sure that they already thought about this and conclude that this is not the correct timing for this action (e.g.they might have noticed (estimated) that PBNs do not harm search results considerably to justify keeping track of backlinks in this way and complicate their system)

But I think there is a good and important point here: If they are not doing this now, it means that they don't have a system to track backlinks of expired domains. This means that they can not detect and fix PBNs built in the past automatically. So we should build PBNs before it is too late :)

Now assume that they are keeping track of backlink creation date (ahrefs do that) and domain history :).... In that case, they can go back in time and exterminate all links juice from previous backlinks.. Sorry for the bad news.

Note that what I am saying does not require manual action. It is a simple algorithm. So realistic PBNs can not escape from this. All previous links before expiration will disappear if they run the algorithm.

Let me know if I miss sth.
