Are press releases worth it?

    As title says : Are press releases worth it?

    I mean for SEO purpose? Some of providers, say that will be distributed to 500 major AFFILIATE sites..

    I'm looking for your inputs, thanks!

    Yes they can be especially if they get picked up by Google news and are included on some of the paid platforms.

    I second this. They will get you a good exposure if your business has something interesting to talk about.

    As for SEO, don't expect huge gains out of these. You can use this when you launch a new site to get some initial branded links. check with the provider which newswire they're using, as some of the low quality ones will take down the release in a month's time.

    Yes its really worth it if you have some really good news etc, But chances are really low of your PR getting picked by other news sites and you get a ******** link. I hope you understand what i am trying to say.

    I agree i ordered several times press realises and depending on how interesting they where... they managed to get to some well-known resources
    Bought it from same provider & sometimes it got to sites like Yahoo Financial News but some times it didn't

    High quality press releases getting posted to major sites are worth it, but it won't be cheap.

    In other words, it is worth it if you have a quality authority site, but not really for micro niche sites.

    As others have said, they can be worth it to directly drive traffic, but would add my experience is that they are almost useless for SEO at this point

    If you're not using them for that, you can use them to dilute your anchor ratio with branded anchors.

    I actually used to use them as a form of content marketing back in the day but now the benefit using them as such has diminished. There is still some value there but really only if you are able to get in G-News from my experience.

    The other value that I see is that a decently distributed PR will add authority to your site which plays a part in how one's site ranks.

    There is value there over the long haul but not as an immediate SEO boost.
