Are NFTS Dead?

They are Dutch Tulips now.

They will always exist but the price will continue dropping till they are at a point where the avg person would think "yeah I'll pay that amount for a tiny pixel art jpeg". I would guess that price level would be around 5c, you can choose which currency.

Thought about this the other day. My theory is that the NFT bubble was triggered by criminal groups laundering dirty crypto by wash trading extremely expensive NFTs. Eventually, tax authorities, law enforcement and exchanges got aware of this and made it more "risky" to perform such a thing (see here, here and here), thus driving the "big players" out of the NFT market and back to the more "classical" methods. This left the market with just the tiny little players, mostly easily-fooled "crypto bros" who thought they were trading gurus and thus driving the NFT market in a downwards spiral.

So, it was basically a bubble triggered by opportunistic criminal entities and it eventually popped. This is my 2 cents

Havent heard about NFTS in a while, is it still a thing?
I think they run again, maybe a few years from now when things like the metaverse start getting traction but not as much as before. Stuff like meme coins is still popular and there will be always demand for some sort of gambling in the crypto space but I think the community and exclusivity aspect of NFTs make them better long term survivors.

is NFTS main just JPEGS ,what else have people used NFTS for?

no definitely not, but at the moment NFTS are not so much in the public eye. But you can do a lot more than just art with NFTS

I think ur on to something here, people were spending millions of dollars anno ously, and then all of a sudden governments crack down on it and the million dollar spending stops

I think they will revive next year
Why? What is it about NFTs that would make you think they would ever increase in value again?

They are small, easily reproduced, images. They have no intrinsic value whatsoever.

Every use case for NFTs is already solved by analogue solutions, they have no purpose and are expensive to use so they are a poor replacement for offline / analogue solutions.

Please don't invest money that you are not happy to never see again.

Every seasons different narratives run. In the last bull run it was NFTs along with the Metaverse. The Crypto space has moved on, this cycle you are looking at things like AI, and memes. NFTs will have a place in the future but it will be for things like ticketing, events, etc. The top projects such BAYC, Beeple, etc will do well but the cycle has moved on.

NFTs were the narrative the last run, I think people by now realized trading JPEGs of monkeys for 100K isn’t sustainable in the long run.

What about suspiciously AI looking pics of psychedelic mushrooms? Surely they will hold their value...

NFTs Are not dead, the Concept is moving to a new name - RWA = Real World Asset.

And NFTs can work when its all about Influencers but not random guys drawing a stupid monkey.

Yep definitely a bubble going on with most NFTs. If they don't have a practical use don't buy them! Their prices can be easily manipulated!

For now they are kinda dead, but I think that they will have more attention during the bull-run 2025

Often times where there is low to none movement on social media or news those are the times these assets tend to rise.
