Are news websites 'press release' backlinks worth it?

Hello,

I purchased a huge combo of news website press release links. And I realized that all of them are no-follow links. I also have to wait to see them indexed. (It has been more than a month). These posts were made in very high profile websites, such a yahoo, CNN, forbes, etc... But these links being no-follow (and maybe never indexed), do you think it was worth it?

I have received good results from targeted press releases (only published on few sites with real traffic and do-follow backlinks). never tried those syndicated ones, where it gets published on shit load of shitty sites.

most press release sellers do work with you to provide you publication on few sites. you just need to communicate it and work with them.

No follow is the proper attribute for press release. No follow links are meant to provide traffic not rank keywords. If your not recieving any traffic then they are mostly low value outside of diversification.

It's good for social engineering (I used the media mentions to secure meetings IRL). After inquiring w/ the providers here but ended up going with Cision in the end.

I paid more, but after a year almost every release was dropped (except Benzinga and PR Web)...

The SEO value is nil.
