To me it seems like they are useless, esp. the meta description.
I tried to rank for a keyword by adding keyword only in the <meta property="description"> tag, however it didn't show anything for it. When I checked the index by adding the exact url in Google, I noticed that the description it's actually shown from the first paragraph that you enter in the article.
Normally, I was deceived by the fact that meta description also grabs the first paragraph, just like Google. So, I thought that the meta desc was the reason why it was shown like that in SERP. But in fact it had no impact.
The title of the post is taken from the first H1 tag it seems.
What do you think? Why do we still need to use them? I'm talking about all: title, url, desc.
