If I run an Instagram automation website, is this illegal?
short answer yes
yes illegal but it's safe if you keep everything looks real
i used followplanner for long time it was great
It's not illegal. You can't go to jail for botting an account. It is however against their terms of service so you can be banned for it.
Using Instagram Bots can lead to a banned Instagram account. A majority ofInstagram Bots use Instagram's API without its permission, which is not permitted by one of the most popular social media platforms.
i agree yes illegal is a big word according to that we may just say against instagram TOS
then the smm panels that offer services of social networks, are also prohibited?
It's not illegal, just against the ToC.
If they pay their taxes, then no, if you ask the IG then yes. Depends who you asking
@TssJonathan not illegal but against the conditions of use from instagram
Okay, could someone get sued for selling these services then?
Suable, not illegal though.
Automation itself is not illegal IN MOST JURISDICTIONS. Automation to commit fraud is illegal everywhere. Often it depends what you are doing.
Just promoting your account via automation does break the TOS and could result in your account being banned. However, in the US, there was a precedent set (last year or so) when a company sued a bot developer and argued that botting was comparable to hacking and the developer lost due some computer hacking law. But that is the US where big business rules the day. I am not aware of any other finding that is comparable else where.
You may get threatening letters which is what closed down massplanner and instagress
may u mean honorbuddy? automation of world of warcraft?
Nothing illegal like selling bots or automation tools.
i think you can
that's why mass planner "shutdown"
Eh, grey area.
Although you can be sued for abuse of computer resources
Against the law, no. If you are using someone else's pictures, however, then yes. It can be identity theft or something similar.
Nope not illegal. Just against IG's TOS. Can potentially put your users at risk if they choose to use the service.
