I am using Pinterest from last 6 years. I have been reading a lot of mixed opinions about Pinterest lately. Some people say fresh pins are still essential, while others claim their older pins continue driving most of their traffic. In my case, a few older pins consistently outperform newly published ones, even though the new designs are better. What has your experience been recently? Are you focusing on creating more fresh pins, or are you spending more time optimizing existing content?

Fresh pins still help with discovery, but many creators see stronger results by continuously optimizing and refreshing existing high performing pins rather than relying only on new designs.

Same here, most of my traffic still comes from older pins, so these days i spend more time updating and optimizing whats already working

I have seen a lot of people say the same thing. Even though fresh pins are important, older pins often seem to bring the most traffic over time.

My older pins still pull most of the weight. new designs don't automatically mean better performance. focus on what's working. if old pins are driving traffic, double down on promoting those or creating similar content. don't waste resources on new stuff that's not proven.

I shifted more focus toward improving existing pins and landing pages. a small update to a proven pin often produces better results than creating new designs from scratch.

In my experience, older pins often bring most of the traffic over time, but adding fresh pins regularly still helps keep the account active and gives more chances to find new winners.

From my experience, older posts have been performing exceptionally well lately. They are generating significantly more traffic compared to newer posts.

I noticed the same thing. Some of my pins that are 2–3 years old still drive most of my traffic. These days I spend more time updating titles, descriptions, and linking related content than constantly creating fresh pins.

It is not uncommon for old pins to work better than new pins because they have been given more time to gain traction, making the refreshing of pins that are already working just as valuable as creating new pins

Yeah that’s normal on Pinterest old pins often keep performing because they already have saves, clicks, and ranking history, so the algorithm keeps pushing them. New pins still matter for reach, but the best results usually come from doing both.
