Are Contextual Backlinks from .EDU subdomains still helpful for SEO?

Hello,

I am creating a new SEO campaign for education website. I would like to include EDU backlinks, but most of them are from subdomains. My question is as follow, Do they pass link juice from the root domain?

About 10 years ago, Google was very like links from EDU domains. And so these domains began to hack. After that, Google stopped considering links from such domains.

I don't agree with you, my ranking moved up after getting some .EDU contextual backlinks (not profile inks). I am asking about backlinks from subdomains.

If there anyone can publish the link, this link not will be worth too much.
If mentioned site have same topic - or better same keywords - this link will be very strong.
When mentioned url is on high positions in Google for mentioned keywords - this link will be extremally strong.

I think that those EDU link does contribute something good in the process, when you have a bulk load of those coupled with unique content - it will definitely deliver some positive metric to your site. But there are those EDU sites that are spammed to death as well - if you can get those that aren't, then those are gold.

I do believe that good contextual blinks from EDU's contribute to ranking. Be it not as powerful as it used to, it definitely has ranking factor now.

If they are not spammed they are worth your time.
