Let me share a funny experience with you people. Someone in my family wants to sell digital products, a few ebooks in a very small/small niche.
I've made the website, custom made, no CMS and all that shit. Today my family member went to a local bank branch where he has an account opened, to open a merchant account to process credit card payments.
I told him in advance what he needs from the bank, because I've already done this a few times. The lady at the front desk, told him that he needs to provide the platform name on what the website is made on, in order to provide me with a ready made module (plugin). I told him to tell her is custom made and I don't need any module, because I will make the code myself and I only need the login details to get the API key and make the tests after code is done. I already read the manual how to implement it for this particular bank. Then again, that lady said that I need to provide the platform name otherwise is not possible. She also told him that after I provide the platform name she will forward the email to IT department to activate the merchant account.
Long story short, that lady had a ready made text in her mind, that had to tell to anyone that came in and asked for a merchant account. She has no clue what she sells.
My question is, am I asking to much when it comes to people? She wasn't well trained before she got that well paid job? Is the world drifting into another direction and people are getting dumber day by day?
