Keep your network private, update them regularly and you shouldn’t have an issue.
I still have blogs from 2014 running.
At the end of the day PBN’s are just blogs until proven otherwise - so keep it that way.
Run your network like an actual blog, not like a link farm.
How do I manage my network? Regularly schedule well written-informative blog posts, and progressively build decent web 2.0’s as tier 2’s.
To this day, my PBN’s receive organic traffic and provide me with great link juice.

Yes they do. Depends on how you build them and how you treat them.
PBNs get caught when they are not built out right, look sloppy and leave huge footprints. Then when people share the domains they go from private to public and then the issues start.
Treat them as you would a genuine site; nice theme, clickable links, banners, decent hosting ( avoid SEO hosting etc ).

If you don't mouth it and hide well your footprints. Then how the hell should Google know a site or sites are being owned by you? The people who gets effected are those mainly who started by going easy. Keeping the number of links to the minimum. But then soon they became greedy. And start selling links, start mouthing about their PBN.
The thing is if you are selling weed then you keep your voice to the minimum. You don't shout out that your are selling weed and definitely not give a newspaper ad saying that you are selling weed. Because then Police will shut you down.

The goal is to make your PBNs a real websites. If you do a good work, there is no way Google or anybody else will know it is a PBN.
People have been saying PBNs are dead since 2015, maybe even before that, but they are still around in 2020, and guess what? They will still be here in 2025.

Depends many people have lost their networks, and there’re some whose pbns have only grown strong over a period of time, I would advise you to buy from experienced sellers because they know what they’re doing although you can always build it but it’s to much hassle to maintain them

how often do you add links to your PBNs? besides web 2.0, do you do anything else to maintain them as link building goes?

PBN still works great if done right. Just treat them like real websites, and don't leave any footprints.

A blog on PBN is just like a normal blog that is well built.
Unless Google all of a sudden feels they're not regular blogs. This will only happen if the guys at Google notice something fishy maybe from a footprint the owners left.
Basically, when a PBN is well built and maintained it remains like that and never gets 'caught'.
