    Hello,

According to a recent Google blog post, the search giant is currently working on a major algorithm change that will revolutionise the way mobile friendliness is determined. Starting on April 21, this new algorithm will be gradually rolled out worldwide, affecting mobile searches in all languages in all corners of the globe.

If you're aware that Google already considers mobile usability as part of its ranking calculations, you might wonder why this April 21 deadline, dubbed "mobilegeddon," is important.

Its time to optimize your sites for mobile devices, This is seriously going to shake up the mobile SERPS!

Thank you for the heads up. I guess most of us have mobile optimized websites since their "Mobile usability" button in Google webmasters :)

I think it will impact both dramatically, this update is supposed to be bigger than Penguin & Panda.

What the hell man. You ripped shit straight out of the thread I linked to, after I linked it, and added it to your own post. That's not cool. Also, you already gave this link in your original post, why are you pushing it so hard? Did you write the article?

None of my money sites are mobile friendly cause the theme I use on all of them is the same, old shitty theme. The reason I use it it's the only theme where I partially understand how to customize the core code. Soon as I switch to another theme I have no idea how to do custom changes cause shit is coded differently and located in different places. Then the I gotta resize / redo / reformat all the graphics and content which will take forever.

Anyway, I got the mobile warning on all my sites then installed the plugin "WP Touch". If you install and activate that it will get your site to pass Googles mobile test. So the bots think its mobile optimized.

But optimizing it for users is gonna be another story. I absolutely can not change themes so I'll probably have to pay someone to make the columns collapse / images shrink like thebostonglobe does. I'm ok at basic coding but advanced shit like that I have no idea how to do. And since I haven't played around with WP Touch yet (other to activate it) I have no idea what its capable of. I need something that can make columns collapse and images shrink.... my form to shrink.... I have no idea how to do that shit.

as for me the real reason is to make more $ from adwords. They will dropp random sites (as always during so called "updates"), so their owners will have to use adwords to survive. Modern mobile devices are so advanced with great parameters and screens with extremly high resolutions that it is NOT THE CASE. Mobile devices are much better than average home desktop computer. Really I do not believe in Google's carrying about mobile users. I use rather "old" nokia cell and have absolutely no problem with "mobile unfriendly sites". They just have found another "reason" to dropp any site in SERPS they want (and make more and more $ from adwords).

60% of google search's are from mobile devices. Maybe a desktop site will work on a mobile, but the desktop site will be far from user friendly. So why would google show your site thats not mobile friendly when there are loads that are friendly. They will drop your result for mobile search's, as it would not be a good user experience.

I'm not a fun of Google. You can find my other posts that prove that. :)

But this particular change is long required. The world has gone mobile, and to survive you must adapt.

I still dont see "mobile problem" big enough to make it a part of algorithm factor:) this is just my private opinion and of course I dont believe in Google's "goodwill" ;)

You're really missed the plot if and when your sites aren't mobile optimized by now
