Videos are an easy way for you to showcase everything about your well-built app. So, create a simple 30-second commercial video of your app describing “Why, How, and what” and promote it on social media.
  • Consider alternative App stores
There are other app stores other than Google play and App Store, so, try to upload your app on that.
  • Include App download links on your website.
  • Screenshots - Just take screenshots of your app and drop it in the app store with short descriptions describing the features of your app.
  • Run a contest
  • Consider offering a promotional price if your app is pay-to-download one.

Completely agree. Videos + FB is the way to go. I will say that many people will look in video sites like YouTube and Vimeo for new apps.
The other thing you can do is to:

1. search in Google for popular keywords like: "Best android Apps 2017" ,
2. find the Top Ranking websites
3. contact the admin and ask to include your app ( you will need to offer payment in most cases).
