I think a holiday might be better to see for your self than ask people on here.

"Come on Betty, we are moving to Dubai, the guys on Black Hat World said it is good"

I'd say go for a holiday there, it's a great place, awesome stuff (havne't been there but many of my friends have), even if you decide it's not a place for you to live there, you'll still enjoy holiday.

My brother lives there and I've been there 3 times.. It's one of the safest places to live in the world.. There are some traffic issues though which they need to solve and like other guys said a vacation there would be a good thing to see if you would like to move there or not

Been there SEVERAL times... 4-5 days at a time... great place to visit and Wow is it growing and building for a tourist industry! But... even if I had all the money I wanted, I just prefer to live where the primary language is English...

The Dubai for tourists is another world than the Dubai for people who are born there.

I am planning to visit Dubai in the summer. Its good place for tourists. You are from Slovenia you can probably try to go to European countries like France or Switzerland.

Am currently in Dubai my friend its a good place but it takes time to get used to the environment and the rules and if your into IM make sure you abide by the rules & lots of sites are blocked such as skype and prn so if your into the prn niche its tough but all the best going out of Dubai in a weeks time.

I went there on holidays and i love the place.. Law is a little tight over there so you need to be careful :)

Other than that the people are lovely , Literally no crime (Only seen like 2 police cars in the 2 weeks i was there) , Pretty cheap to live (Much less than US/UK general living)... Its a great place and thats not including how awesome the beaches are , Good weather , Great food , Attractions (Burj Khalifa , Burj al arab , Water parks , Atlantis etc)

    There are two places.

    Dera Dubai

It is the most exciting place to visit as there are many beautiful buildings and other things are there.

    Bur dubai.

This place is good for sea side.

    Enjoy.

When you get your liqueur license, buy the alcohol for all your Muslim friends that want it,but can't buy it. You'd be the cool guy then.

For some crazy reason if you want to purchase alcohol in Dubai you need a license and only way to get the license is if your a resident, and not a Muslim. But when your just visiting you can buy alcohol in the bars and restaurants at the hotels.

I lived there for 6 months. I would advise anyone who can, visit for a long weekend. To live there is something else.

Unless you earn alot of money, it's very expensive.

My advice is look before you commit. But make sure your contract is good and water tight.

    Good luck whatever your choice.

Yes we are planning to go on vacation there for two weeks first to see how it goes :) I ask in terms of IM and living with IM there, finding SEO clients, having your own SEO firm etc. I rather ask here someone that is doing IM there to tell me if there are some rules of making your own business online and stuff like that, than going to some travel firm for questions.

well, if you're serious about this, i'd contact the UAE Embassy in your country or your Foreign Office/Ministry for Foreign Affairs, a travel firm can't give you appropriate advices about living there

i work in the travel industry myself (not too long ago i organized a trip for my sister who spent the New Year's Eve there), all i know, if you want to travel there you need a tourist VISA (you need to apply for it still you're at home, usually 3-4 weeks before you're planning to travel there, costs around $50), young ladies cannot travel there alone without an escort, i'm not sure about the age limit though, it's 28 methinks

Top 20 reasons not to move to Dubai
    Costs of living in Dubai

"The government blocks all web sites that it deems "offensive" to the "religious, moral, and cultural values" of the UAE. That's hard to swallow for a freedom loving American, but I get it. I do not understand, however, why all VOIP access and related web sites are blocked. I guess the government also takes offense to people inexpensively contacting their families back home. You're welcome to call using the analog service provided by the government-owned telephone monopoly, but it will cost you a whole lot more. So much so, in fact, your frequency of calls will be greatly diminished if you can afford them at all. The government says VOIP is blocked for security reasons, yet even the residents of communist China and North Korea have access to these inexpensive calls."
