Amazon web services offers a free one year trial. Haven't used it personally, but this advice was given to me from other friends.

And what was your experience with it? I'm asking this because I had also purchased one year hosting with them but the servers are very slow. Not gonna use that service again.

Be careful using hostgator as I've had sites go down multiple times. It may be different with other people but that's just my experience.

If you have money, I would get a solid vps or at least a shared ssd.

I am using ipage for my wordpress. They have a promotion now till end of september which includes free domain. $12 for 12 months but you have to start paying about 5$5.95 for hosting after a year.
