You could grab giveaways here, they are offering premium hosting from time to time.

Or if you are going to create legit site (no porn) then try instafree. They are really great free web hosting. But will only allow 1 website per account in free plan. Rest assured, service is great. Can handle traffic load. 10GB space, 100GB bandwidth etc.

If you need cheap hosting for single domains let me know there are several hosting that provide hosting for less than a dollar.
