Hey guys
Just wondering if there are any photographers or wannabe photographers around this part of the internet? :P

I bought a D7100 with 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens the other day and I've been playing with it. I am by no means a professional but I'm learning ;)
So... what are you guys up to? What gear do you own/use and what kind of photography are you into? Landscape? Sports? portraiture? wildlife?

Anyone interested in a small skype group maybe?
Would love to hear from you guys ;)

I used to be before the days of digital cameras and had some decent gear too - An EOS 1 and also an EOS 650 for daily use.

I don't even use the camera on my phone these days though.

I was into landscape and outdoors mainly and used to travel to some far flung spots, so got some great shots over the years. The photos are all in boxes in storage now. I'd have saved a bloody fortune on film and developing if I'd had a digital camera back then!

Your camera is very well specced by the way. A great choice. I'm not a digital camera expert by a long chalk, but I'd buy one.

Not much into photography, but I do like to paint, with oils, if that makes any difference :p A lot of similar concepts.

3 years ago I was into photography. I used to take wedding photos and landscape photos as well as edit them in Photoshop as a hobby, although calling myself a "professional photographer" would be self-aggrandising since I didn't do it very long.

Nice camera you've got there!
I take photos as a hobby (with my Sony HX100V). Not a professional ...learning...
You can see some of my photos on flickr.
A skype group of BHW Photographers would be nice!

I'm into photography. I'm about to buy a Sony A7ii. I like doing nature photography & street photography.

Yes. I work as a sports and entertainment press photographer. Use strictly Canon gear, and regularly shoot youth, high school, and college sporting events. Have been given access to shoot concerts, pro motocross, and Hall of Fame Inductions. I love it but, at times pay can really suck.

As a matter of fact I am looking for a way to monetize the high school sports pics I shoot. After games kids check FB for my shots. Unfortunately not to buy prints but to "steal" for their phones and FB or Instagram pages. Yes they take the ones with PROOF stamped across them...lol. Get 100's of visits per photo set. Any kid friendly image hosts where I can earn some change with? Anything similar to Image Twist but again kid friendly without the porn ads?

Great photos. And Sony HX100V looks like a decent zoom point and shoot. How does it perform at 810mm?

I've sent you my skype ID. Add me.

I am. I do urbex from time to time, been doing that for quite a few years. I do photo manips too but lately that and regular photography has taken a back seat to several business ideas. I'd post some pictures to show you guys but then I'd get banned. I use and older, now, D7000.

Thanks! It performs incredibly well at that focal length and the image stabalization is great too!
It's a pretty decent cam for beginners who are not ready for a DSLR yet..
Added you on skype!

Yes, into photography.

Mainly into portraiture but also dabble into lots of areas.

Canon man with a 5D and 6D.

@Edgester - you need to be printing on-site not trying to sell online. Also look to do sports portraits.

Nooooo you won't get banned for posting photos you took. Feel free to post them :)
Also, interested in the skype group idea?

Cool. I had a sony point and shoot way back in 2011 I guess. Very interested in birds/wildlife/sports photography so I might buy a zoom lens once I get acquainted with my D7100.

I've heard a lot of good things about 5D and 6D both. Mind showing us some of your photos? :)

How about a small skype group guys? We could all help each other a bit, with photography as well as IM things.

My wife is a professional photographer and makes a great living following her passion. If you are learning start following creative live. It really is a valuable tool and you can learn a ton on great stuff! My wife went to seattle and was featured in the most selling course they have had to date! YOU MUST GO TO WPPI! Great networking! She is in the nikon camp and shoots with a D4.

The only useful post in this thread

Seriously?!?!? Where did this thread come from?
I think if you check the interwebs you might find an entire forum that all they talk about is photography... weird right?

that is all for now, gotta go, I am working on a great post about my favorite recipes.
