Anyone into photography?

Nice camera you've got there!
I take photos as a hobby (with my Sony HX100V). Not a professional ...learning...
You can see some of my photos on flickr.
A skype group of BHW Photographers would be nice!

"The kitten asleep in my hands" is a nice shot!

I've a Canon Elan film SLR, with dedi Canon flash, 2 Canon lenses and a Sigma tele-zoom which broke quickly - the lenses are normal 50mm 1.4, short 35-70mm zoom, and a 28-300mm zoom (which I sold because it developed some fungus), and many Cokin photographic filters - polarizer (my fav), graduated, star; and a heavy and a light portable tripod, Elan bar-code reader, etc... I had collected those items when I was working in NYC as a SW consultant in 1994-. Before that, I had an Olympus OM1-N, Olympus OM2-N, and the OM-1N was gifted to me by my elder brother the day I was graduated! :) The OM-1N was my best camera because it really pushed me into learning and knowing the Ansel Adam's Zone System. I have done some pro work with all my cameras -- wedding and school dances being my faves!

I now use Nikon point and shoot digital camera, and also have used my Sony Ericsson Satio (12.1 mp camera), and my latest Android phone. The film cameras have become my unused antique beauties now.

Still, on some lonely evenings, I pull out the Elan system and spend some time with it remembering those old beautiful days when we both spent some of the best time together! :)

I have Nikon 5100. I had a dream the last summer to buy a camera, I managed to buy one this summer (haha), but I used it a bit and then I got bored.. :/ I still love this cam, I doubt I would like to sell it.

I've got a Canon 60d + Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS for sports photography and a Fuji X100S for street photography.
You can check out my instagram (same name here)

Yes I'm a photog, love taking photos of beautiful women. I'm using NikonD810, welcome to the dark side.

I am a hobby photographer, I love to shoot friends or my family when we do trips.
I use an old Nikon D200 (not the greatest camera but it definitely does the job and is very tough) with a pretty nice Zeiss/Sony 24-70 lens
Most of what I know about photography I learned in college (studying media technology / informatics)

I started on a Canon T3i kit & Nifty Fifty (50mm F1.8) and practiced for about a year. Then I made the move up to full frame in a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-105mm F4 IS II USM Lens. Finding myself wanting to play more videography, I finally bought a GH5 with a LUMIX G X VARIO II 24-70mm f.28 Lens and Metabones adapter to take my Canon glass. Long story short, photography is a great hobby, but it is way to easy to get carried away with gear.

Hey guys
Just wondering if there are any photographers or wannabe photographers around this part of the internet? :p

I bought a D7100 with 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens the other day and I've been playing with it. I am by no means a professional but I'm learning ;)
So... what are you guys up to? What gear do you own/use and what kind of photography are you into? Landscape? Sports? portraiture? wildlife?

Anyone interested in a small skype group maybe?
Would love to hear from you guys ;)

I love photography but I'm in no way a professional or anything. All I have got are ..
A Nikon D50 Body with 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 lens.
A Nikon 1 J5 body and a 10-30 f/3.5-5.6 vr lens.
I am a firm believer of the fact that photography is less dependent on the gear and more on what you actually do with your gear (That being said, a macro lens is a macro lens.. but I can't buy one right now :p ) . My favorite type of photography is candid photography but I do love nature photography too (much much more harder to pursue).

As you said you are new to it, I would recommend learning the basics ( like e.g. ISO/Aperture/Shutter speed relation, Usage of flash etc). I follow these youtube channels for more info. All of them are great in their own ways.

Hope to share some new info :)

I shoot mostly film anymore, develop it in my bathroom. My current favorite camera is a stereoscopic camera from 1928.
I also shoot Polaroid(B&W) and paint them

I have shot digital, been published in hustler, met Ken Marcus, have had fetish images hung in art galleries, all that fun, but realized people suck(not the good way), so now shoot with my fiance if I need a person, otherwise I just shoot inanimate objects.
I still make a trickle of residual income off my porn sets, but don't care anymore.

That “Curious Kitten” one is amazing.

You captured it beautifully. Gorgeous little kitten.

I once took a pic of a lion in the zoo and showed a print out to it when I visited next. The lion didnt seem to like it. Gave a loud roar and the entire zoo went silent.
