Anyone having issues with SMS Verification?

Hello BHW,

Has anyone had their twitter account locked and requiring SMS verification, but twitter never sending that SMS... it never arrives... on some accounts I arrives instantly on others *crickets*

what would be the course of action to restore such accounts?

Never happened to me on twitter, but happened to me before on Instagram, I just end up giving up on them
 
That is immensely frustrating... not sure what to do with the accounts, was hoping someone had a solution for that
 
When that happens it's usually the number you're using. Either it's blacklisted or maybe it's been used too many times before in the past.
 
blacklisted as in twitter blacklists it? the numbers are new and clean those are real sim cards, the thing is they are different country from the proxies being used, but then again some of them do receive the sms and some don't
 
Hmm, yeah that's a little odd then. I would try to think of anything that could be the reason those accts won't receive the message. Like were they all created at a similar time, is there something similar between them with the usernames or emails used, etc. Unfortunately there's 50 diff things it could be and sometimes it really is just a random thing and you'll wind up chasing a ghost. I know the frustration. Lol. Good luck with it though, hope you can figure something out.
 
It is most likely twitter blacklisting the numbers, using a new number for an account that requests number for the first time works wonders, but as soon as twitter asks the same number that is already registered to that account, the SMS never arrives.

I figured I probably better stick to using SMS service rather than using a sim, just provide the SMS and delete the number from twitter, probably best option.

So when they ask for reverification you just use another number?
 
Yea sometimes it works, sometimes as soon as I delete the number their straight away ask for a verification again... so its a hit miss thing, but my SMS started flowing again, now I am not sure if its a carrier thing or really twitter, 1 more thing that annoys me is if you request too many SMS they lock your account further, not allowing you to request more SMS
 
Happened to us here many times. We phone verify 600 to 1000 twitter accounts daily and sometimes we don't get code for 1 day and max of 5 days. We just test daily until we see code is coming. Same with IG and other social media sites.

Wow, 600-1000 accounts. Are your new accounts ghosted. By that I mean when you follow someone they don't get notification.

it happens sometimes but trying after some hours will be fixed, it was happened to me many times
 
Sometimes they don't send by SMS but by voicemail. Try using different number/provide

Although that's never happened to me before on personal or handled accounts, I do hear it's really common for others. Not too sure what causes it, if it's on Twitter or on the receiving SIM's provider who has the issue. Try and contact Twitter's support team regarding that, I suppose. As counter intuitive as contacting their support team sometimes feels. Best of luck.

Change the number or proxy and try again.

hello if you use phone number from verification services , sometimes they failed to catch the sms.
Simply because the sender of sms is not always recognised as "twitter". Sometimes it's instead displaying only a normal phone number.

Use good SMS service which also check the content of SMS to identify the sender
 
Thank you everyone for all the answers, it does seem that on some of the accounts SMSes started flowing again, but on some i got locked due to too many requests , yea Twitter drives me crazy sometimes, hence i talk to myself:D , i think what triggers the PV is irregular account activity. I've had my bots run same action for about 3 month and barely any on the accounts had to go through PV, then a week a go i changed their behave to commenting to a specific account's posts, and boom a large amount of the accounts been hit with PV, like about 70%, let's just say if you've never posted a tweet before and suddenly you're very actively replying to one account, high chance you'll get PV...
