    Hi People,
My friends mom is a chronic schizophrenic for the last 15 years. They tried many treatments from medication to harsher treatments like electric shocks but nothing helped. One more thing is that his father and her husband is kind of abusive and a drunkard, that might have stirred up more problems and is probably delaying the cure. Is there anyway or any specific treatment you guys would suggest, would be helpful a ton if a valuable information is shared.

    Need to help them.

There are many alternative therapies that might really work; musical-therapy has helped alzheimer and many other psychological disorders. And I am not talking about some fucking guru playing guitar... talking about actual doctors that have actually realized that drugs and pills are not the only way.

Combine musicaltherapy with other soul and body ones and you might find a path out of her current state.

And for all of you who might be skeptical or just say whatever; musical therapy is a scientific approach and a branch of medicine; reason why it is practiced with success pretty much worldwide

Bullshit, that should not be the thought of an entrepreneur... everything has a solution even the stuff that "doctors" say they don't.

Its the last resort med you gotta get blood tests weekly or monthly after being on it for a few months straight.

It works but if you miss a dose all heLL breaks loose.

I know a few people friends parents relatives co-workers have it or known someone.

Im the last person to want to believe the pharmaceutical industry
They make you hooked and dependent on it. Seen this first hand.

There is no cure for alcoholism either that's something you work on everyday for life..

This is a lounge. Why not just like the OP has some breathing space to discuss about his/her problem? Your whole life isn't simply about making money. I am sure your life has a purpose greater than this. I am not trying to offend you but I do hope that you can spare some empathy for people to share their problems on lounge. We are beyond computers and internet. This is a community that cares, shares and offer support to each other.

Isn't lithium used for bipolar disorder? Anyways, if using lithium make sure to get her thyroid checked - it's been known to disrupt it. I don't want to get your hopes up, but hypothyroidism has been linked to mental illnesses. When patients had this sorted out, they basically return to normalcy.

Some folks have claimed some success with elimiating certain foods from their diets. But you need to remain skeptical though...

Exercise, proper diet, and lots of sleep should help.

Yes. My brother has it - Bipolar and / or manic depressive. I don't talk to him since he's a fucking liability, a sponge, just as bad as he is mad, and constantly threatening suicide if he doesn't get his own way.

He has my mother bled dry of money, blames all his problems on anyone else he can, has no conscience for what he says or does since "It's everybody else's fault".

When he takes his medication he's normal enough but he's such a lazy bum he couldn't even be bothered to do that. Whether they're all like that i don't know, but speaking from experience.. best off taking a wide berth.

Oh and p.s i don't need anyone telling me how i should or should not treat him since nobody knows my personal situation with him, so if you were gonna go getting on your high horse i wouldn't even bother.

If she leaves him, without hate or regret in her heart, she will be cured.
