Anyone got a tip for getting accepted as an editor by DMOZ

I've submitted my sites to DMOZ weekly for about a year now. Bugger all has happened. Lately, I've started applying to become an editor, with equally little success. Comical really, if it weren't actually quite tragic. A major SERP competitor on one of my niches is outranking me by this factor alone....

Anyway, if anyone can recommend a method, a person to bribe, a particularly effective prayer or magical ceremony, which will allow me to become a DMOZ editor, or have my perfectly legitimate site accepted, I would be eternally grateful...

anyone?

1. Find a corruptible DMOZ honcho and pay them off.
2. Find a time machine and go back 10+ years when DMOZ was a functioning organism and things actually happened there.
-OR-
3. Search for other sections to apply in, other than the one that you're obviously not going to be approved for. Just be sure that you wait a decent amount of time between applications and that you have a background that would actually qualify you in the area you've applied.
-THEN-
4. Make friends in other sections, be sure they're trustworthy, and trade.

I was a DMOZ editor a long, long time ago - it wasn't easy, and was a den of corruption. Now, it's much worse. Don't give up, but don't pin all your hopes on it.

its really a case of pot luck from what i've read. Been trying for years without success. Main thing noticed is not to lie about site connections when submitting your application and following the guide for your example urls with description in the category you are applying for
