    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience doing media buys?

If so, can you recommend some good sources of information on how to get started with this?

    Thanks,

    T

Check out the TrafficTactics course. I know it's on here and I believe that mainly deals with media buys.

    Think it's this one...

Smitty is right, TrafficTactics is the best one i've heard of.

His whole life is built around media buying.

However, I dont' see where you can buy the course though.

From what I heard the course was only available to a limited number and don't think it's available anymore.

I actually had the entire course from a different place but have since deleted it because I have too much on the plate at the moment to focus on it.

    It is huge though.

Well it's just like PPC. If you don't know what you're doing you will probably lose money. It's only dangerous if you go in completely blind.

Traffic tactics gave some decent examples, but media buying is hard work. I guess I am a full time media buyer by all definitions.

It really takes connections and experience to be a great media buyer. You need to attend all the internet marketing conferences, make friends, learn the game, and honestly spend thousands of dollars to understand what works and what doesnt.

You can't just become a "media buyer" like you can become an "internet marketer" just calling yourself one, it's a real skill set that you have to develop.

But really, if you by advertising of any kind, even adwords, you are in fact media buying.

If you have some general questions, feel free to ask, if you have 1000 questions, I don't think I have the time to help :)

I recommend trying media buying before even touching PPC to someone just getting into the game. Ur options as to what types of media are a bit larger, and u can get traffic from RON or ROS, at a much cheaper cost than anything coming out of PPC.

But, as stated in other posts, it is not something u can just jump in 2. or is it?..depends on what type of media ur looking to get traffic from, and how much u want to spend.

Ponder this: would u want 2b one of the thousands of folks bidding on the same keyword, or would u rather get ur ad/product/offer to specific groups of people, which increases your % of a conversion?

Save ur $$$ and get n2 media buying. I started small time (ugly traffic, mixed traffic, and some questionable sources of media traffic). It is very powerful, and at least u have control over: 1) terms of ur purchase, 2) delivery of the traffic and 3) which demographics u wish 2 hit.

I am not saying PPC is something that should b forgotten, though I prefer to put my efforts and concentrate on media buying (I also made some contacts at large places over the years before I even got n2 this).

    Good luck!
