If they’re from @Festinger theyre safe others I dont know maybe that’s why hosting companies hates nulled plugin

Anyone who nulls a plugin has a motive for doing it.
I would never recommend using a nulled plugin.
But if you do, make sure you know the motive of the guy who nulled it had. ( whether his intentions were malicious)
That being said. Please support developers guys.

I'm not saying Festinger is hacking people here, but he as well has to have a motive for literally spending countless hours ripping the plugins and themes, right? As far as I know he doesn't make a dime doing it, only for clout.

He makes plenty of dimes on his wp membership site .. If you look at all the plugins he shared "free" here on the forum, only a few threads get updates of the plugins, the rest is pure marketing for his membership site.

No, I never had a problem using nulled plugins because I personally check them myself. To begin with, you could use a scanner that can scan your files for malicious functions like shell_exec, eval , base64 encoded codes, etc...
I prefer to do it myself since I have been doing these things for a long time, but if you are unfamiliar with PHP; use a scanner.

Is a scanner gonna catch a plugin dumping your database and making an http request to send it to the guy that nulled the plugin?
Database access and http requests are normal things for a plugin to do.
There's plenty of seemingly normal things a plugin could do that are actually malicious.
I have not used these scanners you refer to. But I'm sure you can still do some damage while getting around a scanner. Well, of course you can. People get past virus protection everyday.
I suppose it's better than nothing though.

Well, it's best to use a scanner if you are unfamiliar with the programming language used. An open-source scanner could also be modified to catch those HTTP requests; if you are a developer yourself, it's an easy thing to implement.
Honestly speaking, it's better to check files in person rather than depending on automation and you are right, it's better than nothing.

Very, VERY good point.
I chuckled to myself about the notion of coming across any when I was browsing a reputable repo earlier, and then low and behold, there they were - wordfence premium, iThemes etc
Got me wondeirng, hence the thread.Still, didn't think about the potential legal complications involved if things with sensitive data go belly-up. Didn't think ahead with that one.

No matter if your plugin is nulled or not. Most of them have a bunch of bugs and exploits.
Is good for temporary solution, not for long term usage.
Unless you want to open a whole for more exploits.
Using nulled security plugins will increase that probability by 10x times more than the non-nulled.
Don't forget, some plugins have backdoors hidden and that can give money, if someone hack your website and get all things, they sell it for money.
Benefits to use any security plugin is:
Say 'hello' to new opened doors to hackers and exploits
More RAM and CPU usage (your website will become more faster believe me!)
Unbeatable security no one can hack your website. Just install 5 or 6 security plugins
Increase speed, latency, Ban IPs for no reason, ban clean ips.
And you are ready to go...
