As the title implies this isn't exactly my day job.

I started finding out about SEO because of a website I ended up making to try and promote my services a bit.

I found that learning about SEO was really interesting and started being the kind of thing that gets me out of bed excited whenever I remember a new topic or series of words I haven't checked yet. Doesn't even matter the topic, to be honest. The mere idea/challenge to find some useful keywords are enough to get me going for hours on end.

Go figure...

Too bad this probably isn't lucrative for someone like me without industry experience or training.

Nowadays I'm doing some keyword research because I'd like to start a blog of some sort, just for the fun of it, and to do so I need a topic, niche, etc. as I haven't figured out what to do yet.

What about you? Anyone else here doing this for fun? What made you start and what keeps you in it?

This is one of the smartest things I've seen in a while.
Thanks now I feel dumb :weep:

Feel that feel until it passes away. The other way around is being Smart so let's get started and take some action. Ideas are dime a dozen. Execution and taking action is what turns that idea into reality.

Mark Zuckerberg also had an idea just like you but what turned him into a billionaire is the action he put into that idea.

I wish you all the very best on whatever you're going to build with your idea.

Part time at best, the money I make is fun, but unnecessary.
I started over wanting to promote myself.

I have started a couple blogs:
1) for people in my field just starting out, to learn skills I wish I knew starting out and search for jobs.
2) when I bought a house, I started a blog on things I was researching to do around my house. I use the posts as a way for me to research stuff.
3) a blog on stuff in a niche that interests me, as how I want my life to end up, sort of a research diary for future planning.

I also have recently started a major product that when completed will change the way things are done in my industry.

Are you keeping all those blogs active or did some die out?
