Anyone dropped varsity/college for IM?

Don't drop out if you're not confident you can live on your own.

I am doing IM full time but i still wanna come back to for master. :)

Study is fun to be honest.

Dont take any decision in haste , College is a place where you start getting matured and find few friends who remains with you lifetime for free, great Investment

I quit school just recently. However I had a stable income prior to this and I have enough money in different assets to support me for a few years without income. Obviously I am all for "going your own way" but I believe that, unless you have skills that are in high demand and where the supply is low (IT Security, Certain programming languages etc.), you should have a stable income or another way of supporting your "I do my own thing" lifestyle.

All the best and good luck (Whatever your decision will be)

I had such a thought sometime back when I was in college. Even though my thought wasn't to go to IM, I intended to drop school to start a business (had no idea exactly on the kind of business). Looking back in hindsight, I must say that I did the right thing by sticking to the end and getting a degree. Even though I actually never looked for a job with the degree, I believe that having a Plan B (that I can always get a job if s***t hits the fan) has always done me well. Furthermore, it is through sticking in situations that we would rather avoid that builds character and persistence. Just my thoughts :)

I drop out from college since 2010.

And now my IM business is kicking hard.
2010 down
2011 down
2012 win $$$
2013 win $$$$$$$$

IM is a bad business, think twice before taking any drastic step.

& if you do it, don't rely on your parents, get a part time job somewhere and focus on IM.

If you wouldn't post 40 times a day and would actually get some work done you wouldn't think of IM as a 'bad business'.

Don't drop out of school. You're getting an education that can not only help you in I.M, but can give you a leg up in an exploding industry.

If I were you, I'd continue schooling and sit down with your parents and talk to them about giving you an additional $500-$1,000 per month to pursue your IM projects. Let them know that it's an investment in their son.

A general rule of thumb to follow:

Hope and work for the best, plan for the worst.

Your parents give you cash? I had to hustle my ass off just to pay for my school and food lmao! :D

OP, if your parents are businessmen then it would be smooth journey for you and if not then get prepared for hurdles three times. I hope you can cross them in a single year. It took me 4 years though, its like engineering. I call my self Internet marketing Engineer.

I would stay in school while you get more familiar with IM, you can easily set up a passive income whilst going to school. I'd say succeed a little bit first and then sacrifice school in order to scale up.

Fuck me! I wrote long ass replies to every post! Only to get a 400 error! Somebody shoot me!!

Tough luck buddy :D:D

So, can we know what you decided OP? (Obv if you think we may knoe :) )

At least tell your parents what you're going to do with their money. If they decide to fund your venture, then go for it.

invest your money if you want to invest in im.

your parents not have a money tree in house.

you will learn value of money when you will make it from work.

but , why you want to drop out of college ?
we go to {school|college} to learn education , your teacher is not going to beat you. then what are you afraid of ?
this is the best part of your life enjoy it.

Do you have a plan for you when you're sick of IM and don't want to work in IM anymore? Macdonald or Pizzahut
