I did for some months in the past. From what I could learn it's like you said, it's still working if you use organic traffic/search engines to get traffic while had 0 success with facebook ads.
Then I quit mainly because stores are under way too many laws and annoying procedures.

You're looking for organic traffic? You may want to write or buy blog posts with long-tail keywords. Don't drive 'free' traffic to your site that won't lead to sales.

I know, doing that right now actually. Already found 100or so zero competition key words that add up to about 90k monthly search volume for my niche.
I know I can rank for these, so it should be a good amount of traffic

A few years ago I researched Dropshipping heavily for about 3 days. I decided it's a dog business.
But that's just me, and I'm 50 shades of fucked up. At the end of the day it seems I prefer selling digital products and services. It seems to me to be the only thing that you can sell to 100 billion people, and deliver fast. No customs or other country restrictions and bullshit.
I'm sure you'll do fine, go for it!

But, that said, of course I've used other platforms like Fiverr and other. I don't use them as much anymore, but I have gigs leftover from back when I was selling on these other platforms back in the day.
For example, just the other day someone bought some automation scripts from me on Zeerk, of all places
But I like selling on my own websites with my own payment providers, get paid directly, have freedom.
Damn I get to thinking, if paypal wasn't such a pain in the you know what regarding digital products, I'd have made so much more money over the years.
