Try reporting the hack via Facebook’s Security Check page, and reset your password using your email or phone number. If you can't log in, ask friends to report the fake Instagram account, and check your email for recovery options from Facebook. Try contacting tech support, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to recover the account that way.
Is your facebook account locked? Do you have a phone number or gmail or anything linked to backup? I was hacked on facebook before but thanks to my own phone number and logging in on the same phone, I was able to appeal and get my account back. If you have enough information like me, try it and maybe it will work.

If the person who hacked your account did it on purpose, then there is a high chance that you will not be able to get that account back, because they will change your personal information right after hacking, create a new account.

Is your account linked to your main phone number? Can you try to appeal using your main phone number to see if you can get your account back? Go for it, try everything.
