Any tips on how to promote a new app?

well think of it this way. I know your app is a "stocks app" but really you need to identify your target market. What does your typical app user look like or want to look like? Where do they hang out? Find those funnels and resources and start there. Otherwise you might as well just throw your money up in the air.

I did some research and saw that "stock app" Get a good amount of searches on google.. If you able rank a mobile website #1 for that related term you can increase your download without many efforts. But only hard part will be actually ranking the website. If you need help with the backlinks you need to rank just visit seojims

Provide some discounts on special occasion, a lot of developers make discounts and a lot of websites post a list of discounted apps during that period of time.

WOW. This is the first time I'm hearing this, but it's awesomely smart. Thanks for sharing this man.

What if your app is too special? For example, we have app for parents and it is available only on iPad. Paid promotion is mostly useless. Is social media can help? Any advices?

The tighter the niche, the easier (and sometimes cheaper) it is to market because your targeted market segment is smaller. Create an Adwords campaign that targets Parents and Ipads so that it only appears for that specific group.

Hi guys,

I work for a company that just released a new "stocks" app for iOS and WatchOS and I'm not really sure what else to do as far as promotion. We've created a Facebook and Twitter (which we plan to put into FollowLiker), we've started to write a couple articles, and a few stocks tips (notifications. into investing advice, not actual tips) for the app. None of these methods seem to be returning any real results. Can anyone help me out? And please don't offer me a paid service because I'd like to get this done on my own; not interested in a service. All other feedback is welcome though :help:

Hi,
The basic : create a good dedicated page in your website, with a lot and unique information + yt video embedded - and then feed :)

Maybe you could try these to get started ...

https://www.reddit.com/search?q=stocks
https://www.reddit.com/search?q=iOS&restrict_sr=&sort=relevance&t=all
https://www.reddit.com/search?q=watchOS&restrict_sr=&sort=relevance&t=all

I would build a microsite, go to a few of these subreddits and ask the redditors for their opinion of the app after giving them a trial version. But you would not want to get too promotional on Reddit as some of these subreddits tend to kick people out.

Treat these folks with respect, and you could end up with a lot of valuable advise - and maybe some sales too.

That is what I'm planning to do, but I've read people in Re-dit don't like "self spam" and it's pretty easy to get in some sort of blacklist, is the risk worth it?

Hello, guys!
In fact, you have done about app promotion are the content that be included in the method of social media. There are many other free methods for you:

(1) content marking: you can write some relevant blogs and essays to introduce your app, raising the publicity of your app

(2)cross promotion: if you have published more app that have received good responses, you can use the platform completely to advertise your app, because the potential audiences are the precious resources for your new app.

(3) special website: you can put your app on some special websites, like classified sites and review sites. The installs will increased when audience browsing these websites.

(4)you can optimize the name, icon, description and screenshots of your app to attract much more potential audiences and get more installs.

(5) build personal connections: you can invite your friends and relatives to install your app, then they will advertise it in their circle of friends.

(6) analyze your competitor: everyone or every group should analyze the valued competitors, which can help you learn about your competitor clearly. App developer can know the strategies of launching app by using this way, and learn about more channels of marketing.

Wish these methods will be useful and good luck!

.

1 - make attractive video and post it on youtube
2 - post stuff about your app on the forums/articles sites

Identify your target audience and post where they're surfing. For social media, it would be the right groups/communities to join and post. Same with forums.

You can promote your app from Social medias and great Forums like this... You can also post some Contents on your own, it makes better visibility for your app. You will have to do some kind of paid promotions, if you are looking for great moves.

everyone is giving you the same advice (forums, social media. etc...) so this should have been common sense to you. there is no magic trick. it's up to you to make people interested on those platforms.

BUT i actually would suggest you to read other people's success stories on how they make their business viral and stuff. it's much easier to get some knowledge nuggets from that than a thread like this that have 20 people tell you the same common sense bullshit ("try social media and forums")

You may try these strategy -
Build a microsite. This one or two-pager showcases your app to the web audience.
Build a teaser website.
Start a blog.
Share your content.
Create a product video.
Get press, tons of it.
Pitch to app review websites.
Contact bloggers who would care.

Socials and foruming is the best solution for you at this case

Everyone on this thread is giving you the same advice. The thing is, there is no formula to market in a specific way as there are a lot of dynamics involved.

If you are confident enough there is a problem that your app solves, hangout where your audience is most likely to be (Facebook groups, reddit) and talk bout it in a non salesy way to get people interested.

I would also go big on video marketing, something creative like creating a viral video/s story that would involve your app and use that to market it.

Listening to other success stories by other app makers can also give you ideas

Think different.
