Well it's been 5 years since i start smoking, and let's be honest, smoking is basically killing you slowly but faster than a normal rate. So i finally made the call and decide to stop.

But is really really REALLY hard.

Pretty sure here we've got some smokers or ex-smokers, so i'm simply asking for tips

Thanks :)

1. You save money. Smoking is literally burning money, other things are also frivolous spending, but it all comes to the second point:
2. Health. When the big C comes knocking on your door, you will REGRET!

Do you want to die sooner? No? You want to live longer to enjoy time with your relatives and see your kids get older? Then stop.

I just stopped. Was hard at first, but now after 2 years I don't think about it.
But how did you manage in the start, did u use some medicine to make it easy?

That was a great point indeed. It's not like i don't want these things, but since it's an addiction it's so hard to stop, seems like your body needs it now to function properly you know?

Agreed, just stopped to think about it and i would save like $60 a week stopping. And of course bad health is no joke at all

Try quitting, and doing a workout whenever you feel down to boost your dopamine levels. Focus on good habits to overcome the bad ones.

You can not quit it in one go. At least that is not the case for me. I still do smoke. But the rate of smoking is down the size and one day it will come down to zero. I am the guy who used to smoke 20 cigs a day. Now, its hardly 1-2 but it took years of self determination.

I was a chain smoker for 6 years. It was a hell of a journey and i am still fighting.

Keep downsizing your budget for smoking and one day you must be able to quit.

Thanks,

Buy some nic salts at 50mg and a pod to vape them, each time that you want to take a cig on just use the pod, after 2-3 months you will start to feel the horrible taste and odor of cigarettes

I stopped cold. I didn't want to replace addiction with another. It's too easy for me to start smoking again.

I counted how much it will save money and suffered for a while. For me it's the habit that is hard to get rid off.

Edit: also did it for my kids. Don't want them to see that shitty habit.

E-cigs. Not because they are less harmful or anything else. But it's easier to stop vaping than smoking. You can reduce nicotine in your e-juice gradually every few months and when you're at 0, there's no reason to continue. You can't reduce the nic in cigarettes. You can, but in cigs there is a combination of several things your body is addicted to.

Try spending more time at the church and the underprivileged, it would Definately help you

Nicotine chew gum. IT helped me over 1 week, then I just stopped and used normal chew gum.

Nicotine works in waves in our body. That’s why at a moment you “need/want” a cigarette and then smoke it.
You have to outsmart you body with those waves and keep that envy below the line of “I want a cigarette”

How to do it :
Use a nicotine patch, and, very important, whenever the “wave” gives you an envy of smoking, SMOKE ! And throw away the cigarette when you don’t feel the envy anymore (you can finish it of course).

This way, the waves are going to be calmed down and you’ll have less and less the need to smoke, then after a time, you won’t need to smoke with the patch, and slowly reducing the patch power and continue like that to the point where you won’t need no patch and will have the need to smoke way less.
This is the scientific method to quit the nicotine addiction. Backed by specialized doctors, not me.
Good luck and get rid of those spikes ;)

Covid-19 ironically is probably one of the best opportunity, which can help you quit. Where i live, masks are obligatory, if you leave your house, on the street, in shops etc. Pubs are closed, festivals are cancelled. Unless you smoke a lot at home, there aren't too much place or occasion, where you can smoke freely. This can help you make the first step at least.

Cold turkey... The longest strech I didn't smoke for was 7 months. I just went cold turkey on smoking.

You could try vaping too, but it's nothing like the real smokes lol.

This actually looks promising. I am gonna try this way too, thanks!

I started vaping. It was easier when I felt the need to smoke, I would vape a few times and I would get over the feel.
