Any MAC Users on here?

I'm a windows guy personally but i've been trying out my younger brothers macbook for a few days and i quite like it.

No more hitting the back button or switching tabs as you can do it with the trackpad.

How do you guys like MAC? Other than the price ofc :D

Quite simply I do not like them. You can hit Backspace to go Back. You can also get a 5 button mouse, the side buttons will by default be Back and Forward. You can program them anyway you like. I'd suggest simply learning how to use the machine you already own before going out to buy another one.

Learning hotkeys will save you loads of time.

Haha , I know how to use windows. I was just saying that MAC is easier for that sort of stuff.

And i never said at one point i was going to buy one ?
 
got to agree with len on this one, i was a windows user for years, turned to mac just a little over a year ago for my uni course. Got a macbook pro...dont think i will ever turn back...however i do run parallels for scrapebox:P
 
I have a 27" iMac with the Magic mouse and osx lion... I lived by windows until now...

Magic mouse is really the biggest thing. You have 5 desktops you can slide through with just the swipe of a finger. Makes it really easy to do more work.

One thing I hate it seems like the Mac and Youtube do not get along.
 
i used to have an iMac but now I only have macbook pro. I use Ubuntu and windows 7 (dual boot) for my new PC that i just bought last July to replace my iMac. So basically I'm familiar with using all the 3 OS :D

mac os x is simpler and just feel better when you open multiple programs altogether. The price is overpriced though, that's why I dont buy new iMac. The good thing about having apple computer is there will be always a lot of apple fanboys . you can always resell your old gadget for a not-so-cheap price. I had a 20" 2008 iMac version (2.6 GHz core 2 duo) and I sold it for $550. I only add about $250 to buy a hardcore new PC (core i7, 1GB vram, 1 TB harddisk, high PSU, etc etc). Imagine if i opt for new iMac instead, for about $1100 i'd only get a i5 with cheap video card. As a gamer, I need windows and bootcamp just won't maximize my gaming experience hehe

but as for macbook, it's really worth the price. os x lion is really a huge change for laptop user as you can easily switch between space from your trackpad. This is something you cant do yet on windows-based laptops

Proudly Member of Mac brotherhood since 1996 (my first love was a Performa 6400, LOL).

At the moment, I've got a Mac mini 2,1Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, a model from mid 2007 (bus 667mhz, 2 Gb DDR2 SDRAM, 120 Gb HD). This tiny wonder runs Mac OS X 10.5.8, which I'll upgrade soon to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (though I've heard about Lion, I never jump on brand new OS's in computers I use for working).

Besides, I share with my wife a 17" laptop powered by the worst Microsoft OS ever: Windows Vista. This one is for filling tax forms and book-keeping; two tasks that in my country are almost impossible to complete from a Mac (thanks God our public sector is now changing sides for the benefit of Linux).
 
I'm way too cheap to buy a Mac. When my oldest graduated from college I bought him one and found out that the pricing is borderline criminal.
 
I have both.

High-power gaming PC - I do most of my IM on this, game a bit, use it all the time.
White MacBook - I use it for my social-life, leisure, and researching IM. Only used while in bed or on vacation.

I recommend a PC if you're doing IM. Lots of our tools aren't compatible on Macs and you can subtract the difference of spending for your computer as if you were going to buy a Mac and you can justify investing in your ventures :D

Main platform i use:
1992-1998 Mac user
1998-2007 Windows
2007-???? Mac :D

They introduced Mac OS X a bit too late for me at that time... so i switched... :eek13:

HAHAHAHA. Absolutely!

For the past 15 years I've worked as a graphic designer, so Apple is not an option for me but the standard in my industry. (Not to complain, anyway. As tools, macs are very reliable machines and almost maintenance-free; so I prefer them to PCs in despite of their price tag.)

But, you know, from time to time ?say, every 5 or 6 years? I need to change computer to keep myself updated with recent apps. Then, I usually pay a visit to my local Apple Store and start to yearn for those g*ddamned expensive laptops.... (To make things worse, due to my job I need those ones with a huge screen. So...)

...a lot of water has flowed since 1996 and I'm still looking for a moral excuse to indulge myself in buying a laptop. Something that even my neighbours' 14-years-old kid already has got. :(

Yes, I could buy one as that of my neighbours for 1/3 of the money, but what for? I only use my computer for working and, for that purpose, I'm in the hands of Steve Jobs (R.I.P.)
 
Mac and windows VPS , the best of both worlds. I'm not forced to deal with a slow and cumbersome OS, but still have the ability to run everything I want.
 
The XPS 15z has all the macbook touchpad features and so do many high end pc laptops now as well. I like mac's cool style, but it ends there for me. I use PC and I feel as though 80%+ of the crap I do on it cannot be emulated on a MAC, from software to blackhat stuff to flexibility.
