Any decent writers here?

Is the offer still available?I have a team of writers.

I am about to test out a writer who only charges $1 per 550 words and it passed copyscape and looked great, but we will see.

I'm looking for some decent writers to write and rewrite articles for my new sites.

I've had a good look (and laugh) at some of the crap on DP and wondered if you guys could point me towards people you've used trust and rate?

I don't mind paying a bit, up to $7 per article would be fine.

Cheers guys,

Jez

lololol @ $7 per article. That's funny, you're not going to find any good writers even close to that level. I make $25 for a 500 word article. You're going to have to look at a minimum of $15 if you want quality work.

p.s. I'm not trying to get work here. I already have a full client base and a long waiting list.

Get off of your high chair. There are a lot of great writers in 3rd world countries. I'm a full-time writer in oDesk, with a rate of $5 per 500 word article. I haven't had anyone ask for a refund or a rewrite. I've written around 2,000 articles and have several long-term clients.

It's just a matter of where you're located. I'm from the Philippines so obviously, $5 is already a lot of money for a 500 word article. So don't say that you need to pay at least $15 if you want quality work.

Hello there!
I am willing to give you articles for your websites. I am sending a pm too. Since I am new (But quite good) in it so will ask for fair price.

No big claims, no self praises, however; stern commitment to generate quality content. I possess more than 5 years of freelance writing experience and an expert author on ezine articles.

If you need quality work on time, do message me.
Looking forward for a favourable reply
Regards

Whether I'm selling myself short or not is not the issue here. The issue is your sweeping generalization:
*snip*

I paid you a compliment, had a joke with you and +rep'd you. What are you getting upset about?

I think you need to discuss adjusting your medication with your physician.

I'm not making any sweeping generalizations. I was having a bit of fun with you over "high chair". What exactly is insulting about saying you should join me on the high chair and charge more? That's called paying you a compliment, but since you're being an asshole, and still you're being unnecessarily cocky by saying you have "perfect grammar", so let me enlighten you; you don't.

Your grammar is mediocre. You're using periods where you should have commas and your grammar is all wrong.

1) "You said that he's not going to find any good writer "

It's not "any", it's "a"

2) ". So I just said that there are a lot"

You don't start a sentence with "So". "So" is a coordinating conjunction, so it's used to join two independent clauses together in one sentence. See how I used it there? THAT is how you use it.

Coordinating conjunctions = FANBOYS = For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So.

3) "I do have clients paying me more than that. But for the longest time, that was my rate."

This is all wrong. It should read

I do have clients paying me more than that, but for the longest time that was my rate.

Remember your FANBOYS, coordinating conjunctions. "But" is one of them.

4) " I chose high chair because it's more applicable for you."

More applicable *TO* you, not *FOR* you. That's a rookie one. No native English speaker would have written that. I thought you had perfect grammar? :/

5) ". But yeah, high horse is probably better"

Uh, oh. Those sneaky coordinating conjunctions again. :(

6) ". But then again,"

But then again, indeed. :-)

7) "non slip-up."

*NON* slip-up? What? A non slip-up means there was no slip-up. Does not compute, does not compute.

8) "It's not as if they're paying me $25 and they can get articles cheaper at $5 each."

Eh? That doesn't even make sense. I think you're trying to say:

They're not going to pay me $25 when they can get articles as cheap as $5 each.

(8) just made absolutely no sense at all. That's my best guess for what you were trying to say.

On the plus side, I now wholeheartedly agree with you. You are NOT worth $25 per article. You're definitely right, $1/100 is a far better rate for you. My apologies for suggesting you were were worth more.

Maybe next time someone pays you a compliment, gives you some rep, and has a little joke with you, you'll just smile, laugh and respond in kind, but until such times maybe you'll be less inclined to claim "perfect grammar", while at the same time accusing someone else of acting high and mighty.

Have a good day.

Wow. You're playing grammar police in a forum? In a freakin' forum? LOL! Makes you look like a douche. Seriously.

No one pays attention to their grammar and sentence construction in a forum. I spend half a day writing articles and making sure that they're perfect. Why the hell would I worry about grammar and sentence construction in a freakin' forum when I just want to have fun? You should have seen how I post a few months ago in other forums. i typed like this...because this is how i text...so might as well do the same while typing in a forum...

I'm not a native English speaker so I do exert a little bit of an effort when I write articles for my clients. Why the hell would I exert the same effort when I type in forums? As long as people understand what I'm trying to say, then that's fine with me. Judging how you were able to "correct" them, then you understand them just fine.

The important thing is I've never had a client ask for a refund or a rewrite. Anyone else in this forum can PM me for my oDesk or Fiverr profile so you can see my feedback. But not you because you're Mr. Perfect who has nothing better to do than write articles for a living AND play grammar police in a freakin' forum.

I'm done here. If you have something else to say, PM it to me.

Oh, please. Not that line. That's like a professional chef cooking an awful meal at home then saying "Oh, I don't pay any attention when it's not for money"

Complete bullshit. You're claiming to be a professional writer with PERFECT grammar, yet your English on the forum is below par? Are you saying you're deliberately making a mess of it just because it's a forum, or are you saying that when you're writing a proper article you'll re-read over it to correct your incorrect grammar, incorrect usage of words, and continual use of coordinating conjunctions at the start of sentences?

Please. You're just an angry idiot.

All I did was compliment you, say you should charge more and have a laugh with you over the "high chair". I said you should come and join me up on the high chair, and I called you "buddy" with a smiley face. Who actually responds to a friendly message like that with aggression and insult?

All you've done here today is show any potential clients that you're not only aggressive and nasty, but that your English isn't even at the 5th grade standard of a native speaker. I can't believe I +3 rep'd you, what a fool I am. Shame I can't take it back from you for being such a looney tunes.

Do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead.

This is not true. I had a article writing service here that was getting me $7.50 for a 500 word article. Most of my clients were extremely happy with my service and repeatedly left great reviews on my thread, saying that they never ever edited or even proof read my articles.

I guess I could have charged more. But, the fact of the matter is that I didn't, because I wanted a steady flow of work and it was difficult to solicit work at premium rates, especially on a forum like this.

In this forum, every one has a set mentality that $1 per 100 words is the going rate. Some are willing to pay $1.50 or even $2.00 per hundred words. But, they are usually hard to find.

My article writing service thread is stalled for now because I have to attend to my personal sites. But,if my thread was open now, I would like to think that I will fit the OP's requirement, both in terms of quality of work expected as well as the budget that he is trying to stick to.

Yes, and I've had a look on your thread. You turn orders away on a regular basis. Your quality is too high for your price. Supply and demand. Adjust your price until you're no longer getting more orders than you can take on. At $5/100 I get just enough to fill half my day, leaving me the rest of the day for my own business, so that price is perfect for me.

Generally that's how it works. You *can* find amazing writers at cheap prices, but once the word gets out everyone wants their services, so they put their prices up.

Sometimes, like in your case for whatever reason the writer decides not to put the price up, but people will have a hard time booking you personally, won't they? :chicken_w

I was lucky enough to have a few great clients that were willing to give me big chunks of work. But, if I didn't have those clients and had to bump the thread on an every day basis, I have a feeling that it might have been tough going.

But, I guess I would try it in the future, if I ever reopen my article writing thread.
