You will be asked for a monthly fee if you want to get your seats heated.

Also, to keep the fun on, here is a joke between two inmates:

Inmate #1: What are you in for?

Inmate #2: I got life for manually heating my car seats.

Inmate #1: What? How is that possible?

Inmate #2: I circumvented the switch-box and installed a manual switch on the wires.

Inmate #1: You got life for modding your own car?

Inmate #2: Yeah, the switch-box was a digital rights management device. Circumventing it made me a vicious pirate, also because I posted a step-by-step blog of my mod. The car company sued me for all I owned and the DA wanted an example of the consequences of assuming you own your computerized stuff and crossing the profit margins of corporate rule.

Inmate #1: Pfew! I got lucky. I shot a nobody and it got me 5 years for manslaughter. And then, during trial I killed my lawyer and got community service for that deed. Boy did that judge hate that lawyer.

I'm from where BMW cars are made inside the USA

They were a dime a dozen where i lived because everyone who worked there got the opportunity to lease and buy at employee prices

And I will say... Those cars are very impressive because you notice how even after people stop working there.. they usually bought/kept BMWs

It seems that they want to go Tesla's way. Pay a fortune for a car and a monthly fee for options that should be available at no further cost. Is okay to pay for new features, if your car didn't come with (that can be updated OTA) or for a GPS subscription and maps. But not for seated heats...

BMW nah, these days just amounts to me laughing at them for remembering them getting de-indexed on the serps for blackhatting. X6 is ok though.

are they out of their mind? I bought the car, I literally own every screw in it. I'll use it however I please. And they want to charge a monthly fee to heat my ass? Fuck BMW.

BMW fans are kind of Apple fans, so BMW is free to implement subscriptions for heat seats.
LOL
I know you may have been kidding but this is accurate as far as I’m concerned. We own a X6 and I love the apple ecosystem. I guess I’m a sucker for quality products. :anyway:

I think this is only in South Korea for now. Hopefully it doesn’t expand to the US/Other countries. If we let everything become a subscription, it will be.

Beemers get stolen very very often here for criminal use...
& I dont personally like them either :)

Many years ago I predicted that there'd be a big market for vintage cars, simply because they have no trackers, no chips, no internet connections.

In the near future, people will value their privacy much more than a fancy multimedia panel.

Have you ever see a BMW with working turn signals? Exactly. Never understood why someone would want to buy a car with such quality control issues.
