Yeah, I have never tried opt-ins and such. Somehow I feel it's a great waste since I might have lost thousands of targeted profitable leads.
Since I'm new to this field and I want to try it out, I am looking for a cheaper alternative to Aweber.

Anyone can recommend it? Will +12Rep.

I recommend to go for GetResponse, it's cheaper than aweber

Oh yeah, saw the Free Account.
Is it free forever (of course keeping below 500 subscribers) or is it just a 1-month free trial thingy?

This is i got from GetReponse forum and their support guy stated these

"Also, please note that GetResponse Free accounts are limited to
100 contacts and if your list is above that number, you need to
decide if it won't be better to upgrade your Free account. Please
see the following link for more information:

The 500 limit, which is mentioned there applies to amount of sent
messages, not to the list size.

I hope you found this helpful, please don't hesitate to contact us
again with any further questions you might have.

I copy and paste that from message came from their support team.

There is actually icontact that is free forever (less than 500 subscribers).
But there is also imnicamail.com which hands down the cheapest alternative if you are starting out. They offer a free plan too (up to 1000 subscribers).

Hope I could help.

iContact is $14 per month from 1 up 500 subscriber mate.

Yes, its not a well-known autoresponder service, but they have a lifetime price for unlimited autoresponders, mailing lists and subscribers.

purchased the lifetime one few weeks ago, but not yet using it... :)

What ever that link points to my computers antivirus alerts of a trojan.

Try out amazon ses. You can send however many emails you need to on a transaction basis. So it cost you $10 to send out 1 million emails. They start you off with 1000 and build you up, after a couple days, if you're sending out quality email. It use to be a pain to setup with their api, but they switched over to an smtp connection, in the last couple weeks. If you use something like interspire email marketer, which you can find here, you'll have total control over your email system.

I have heard good things about mail chimp, but alot of people like icontact cause you can add people to the list without a double opt in but their features are less than desirable.

Hi. I'm a newbie on BHW but not a newbie in IM and since with MailChimp you can manage 2000 suscribers for free I definetely recommend you to try it

I'd look into comm100 and mailchimp while you're at it as well.
