Hello, folks!
I have read the 7878 thread when it was first posted and have been planning on doing ORM for a long time now. First I made the site, then this, then that - I never really got anywhere because like many online marketers, I am used to working online and not offline with "real clients". Well, a few weeks ago I decided it was time to take action.
- I used LocalScrapper to create a database of potential clients in 3 different industries.
- Based on star rating I selected all businesses that has less than 4 stars ratings.
- I tried to find their decision maker names on their websites/facebook/linked in.
- In one industry I was able to come up with 34 decision maker names (out of 100 businesses).
Friday, October 25th I sent out 34 envelopes. In each envelope I put a letter, a print out of their reviews and of course, the dice.
Total cost: 52$ on stamps, 4$ envelopes, 4$ dice = 60$. The printing was done by a friend so he didn't charge me anything.

The letter was rewritten in my own words. I do not mention the price or the value of my service but I say something along these lines:
"We are presently offering our consultation ($347 value) completely free and with no strings attached. If you like our offer and decide to go ahead with our service - great, if not - you will get a free consultation and some ideas on how to manage your online reputation".
On Wednesday, Oct. 30 I got a first call from a business with 4 locations. Tomorrow (Friday Nov. 1st) I have a meeting with him.
Wish me luck
