I would not call that thing viral...since April it got about 300.000 views.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very good results that most videos on YT can only dream, but real viral to me are things like the first episode of The Annoying Orange or Paint's Harry Potter video, that got millions of views in few days without a global brand like Desperados supporting and publicizing it.
 
this is really AWESOME..... and I am not so easy impressed by something
 
What they did, they bought a YouTube custom branded channel, which you can buy if you contact one of google's adwords accountants in your country! In Europe, such a branded channel cost 40.000EUR per year (and that's just for access to add custom coding to your channel!)

You can then have access to YouTube api's and add flash and javascript codes to your channel and fully customize it to your needs. I know this because I worked with some agencies in my country who have done campaing such as these!

Lol they gave themselves 2,420,999 views. A little too ambitious.

I wouldn't dub it viral, but that's one amazing script... I didn't think YouTube allowed that type of thing!? I've never seen anything like that before..
 
yeah... pretty simple. Just a swf with a few buttons. Didn't check to see what type of scripting they might be using, but it's basically just a screen shot.
 
This has been done by so many other brands since 2009, when YouTube lauched this feature. Like I said a few posts ago, almost everyone can get this... if you're willing to pay 40.000EUR :P

I've seen a lot of interactive YT pages, but this one is definitly one of my favourite: youtube.com/tippexperience
